Is it really worth the extra 1400 dollars for the week? We probably won't use any of the tours or anything. We will get the regular dining plan though.
I don't think it is worth it. IMO, you're basically paying for the convenience of having everything prepaid.
We checked into it for our upcoming trip because we're doing a lot of the things that are included with the premium plan. It is going to be a longish trip (10 or 11 nights), and we're doing quite a bit of non-park stuff. DH is going to be golfing at least twice. DH & DS are going parasailing and taking surfing lessons. All 4 of us will be doing an inexpensive tour (Behind the Seeds @ Epcot), renting SeaRaycers, and playing a round of miniature golf. We have 3 signature dining meals planned (one of them OOP), a kid-free night (with 4 hours at the kids club for our 2 kids) at ESPN Club that will come out of pocket, and two OOP dessert stops that we'd be willing to make into full meals if we didn't have limited TS credits (Sci-fi and Beaches & Cream). When DH expressed an interest in seeing La Nouba, I starting thinking about the premium package. So I did the math. On the dining plan, with everything I listed above added in, the total came to about $7600. The premium plan for the same trip? $10,450!

Even the little things we might add if we were on the premium plan, like me golfing with DH or a family carriage ride, wouldn't come close to making the extra cost make sense.
We like the regular dining plan. It is a great value and it suits the way we eat. The 4 of us will share 2 breakfasts in the morning and 2 lunches at midday, then enjoy a nice dinner, essentially getting 3 full meals each day out of the TS & CS credits, and using the snack credits for snacks for the room and candy store souveniers to share with the kids' friends when we get home. The premium plan seems like overkill, with the option for every meal to be a sit down meal and all the non-park recreation. To get your money's worth out of it, you'd barely have time for the parks!
