Do you think this will be a one time perk or a perk available every year for PAP purchases Oct 1- Dec 31?

Congrats on your purchase of DVC

I would think as long as you are registered/recorded in the system it wouldn't matter who you purchased with. Once you finalize paperwork, that happens pretty quickly. WELCOME HOME !

Just another anecdotal piece of information. I just called MS and they said I can upgrade my MYW tickets, as well.

Once you are a dvc member you can buy this PAP. There is no restriction on this offer on how you got into DVC - as long as you are a dvc member. Good luck with your purchase - I myself am in the home stretch.

Just another anecdotal piece of information. I just called MS and they said I can upgrade my MYW tickets, as well.

So essentially, we just cannot upgrade a DVC regular AP. But MYW passes CAN be upgraded ? Odd......................but thanks for the info.

You do need a membership card, but often you can get a temporary one from one of the preview centers.

I think it's a one time perk. The 15 month renewal promo they had about 3 years ago was never repeated.

I agree! Plus the promotion for the 10% savings for new AP and the AP members getting gift cards for every new AP bought was never repeated either.

I would just buy it when you get there. You can go back to a regular AP at renewal.

I'm wondering the same thing. We are new DVC owners this year. We are still deciding how we would like to use our points. We can do a week in a studio at least once a year, or a 1 bedroom less frequently. The plan when we bought was every 1 1/2 years, but now that we own, I'm trying to talk DH into more trips! I would love to take advantage of this deal, but not if I'll have to pay over $500 to renew it. In that case, I am better off with the regular AP, or neither. Ugh, what to do?

In this post here, on ques 3, it sounds like CF is saying an existing current AP can be upgraded during the promotion for the rest of its life. I can only hope!

When I got the email from Disney about this offer, I jumped for joy! We didn't renew our annual passes this year because we knew we wouldn't be able to travel this year. I was bummed about missing out on the savings. With this offer, we can buy them as our family Christmas gifts and use them when we finally can travel again next year. I'm so grateful that Disney will allow us to activate them any time before December 31, 2013.

I truly do LOVE Disney!

We were just in WDW a month ago and bought some AP's that won't expire until next August. I think I'll buy some PAP's at $399 and use them after our current ones expire next year. It's better than the renewal since I can hold them until next December to activate as opposed to being stuck with the August activation date.
