When I was younger I never had Worcester sauce to put in it like the recipe said. I used steak sauce because it was a brown sauce. It gave the meatloaf a really good flavor and I still do it today
OK, TinkPirateMom, I'm going to try those too! I might just go get some tomorrow and try them. The sauce, DonPepino, do you get that at Sams too?
You can make them with a lb of chopped meat too. Just add an egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, pepper and grated cheese- we use Romano i. Instead of bread crumbs I soak a couple of slices of white bread in water and add that to the mixture. I leave the bread out a while so it gets a little hard beforehand. Mix and roll the meatballs. I fry them in a little olive oil. Yummy with or without sauce!

What steak sauce do you use? When I've used A-1, I can taste it too much. I prefer Worchestershire, it seems to blend better and I only get Lea and Perrins.
Giant Eagle also carries Victoria and Mario Batalli jar sauces which are both VERY good, but are also like $7.99 a jar!![]()
Here's the loose recipe I use:
3lbs ground beef (I buy 90% lean)
1T garlic, minced (I use jarred)
1/4c romano cheese (I use a parm/Romano blend in the can)
1c Italian bread crumbs
Pepper (I eyeball it, maybe 1/4t)
2 eggs, might need one more if they're very small)
I double this when I buy the BJs family pack. Sometimes it's closer to 5lbs, sometimes closer to 7...just adjust accordingly. It's a very forgiving recipe.
Roll into balls, olive oil on the sheet pan then drizzles over top.
Bake at 375 for 20-25 mins.
When I buy frozen meatballs I get the one's from Sam's club in the big bag. My son loves them and I can heat up two in the microwave with a little sauce and give him that for lunch or dinner if he doesn't like what I'm malking!I make homemade meatballs sometimes, too, but the frozen ones are handy and taste good.
I have tried every brand of Frozen meatballs and could never find any that my family would enjoy. ( Our dogs appreciated them)
