We will be going to WDW during mid-Sept for 6 days, at which time I will be about 4 mos pregnant. We are staying off-site in a time share and used a credit with Jetblue for the flights, so the trip is costing us almost nothing. Has anyone been to Disney while pregnant? What was your experience, level of tiredness, etc? We plan to do the parks most days, but not necessarily every day, as I will need to relax by the pool.

My first trip to Disney as an "adult" (lol), I was just about 4 months pregnant with a princess, and I don't remember being overly tired, but I do know that the heat really got to me a few times. My first day, I got a horrible headache (probably dehydration/sunstroke) and we had to leave about an hour earlier than planned. Other than being bored while DH and DS got to ride the fun rides, I had fun, I got the whole magical experience minus thrill rides. You still get to ride things like It's a Small World, etc, and I went on Kali River Rapids (I wasn't aware of the drop in it, but I was okay). My only suggestion to you is to make sure you are well hydrated, and make sure you know the proximity of every bathroom in every park! :rotfl:

I'd much rather do Disney pregnant than with a newborn, that's for sure.

I went to Hershey 4 months pregnant with twins, and it was fine! Bad me - I did all of the coasters! :rolleyes1 I didn't feel tired at that time - just the first few months, and the last month.

At 4 months, you'll be into your second trimester and for most women, the fatigue of T1 is a thing of the past. I've never had as much energy as I did during T2 of both my pregnancies - it rocked!

You should be fine! There are so many nice shows and slower rides to enjoy. Just remember to drink enough water and take it easy.

Have fun!

Thanks everyone! I couldn't pass up a free trip, even if I might have to miss some of the big rides and take it a little slower than normal!

We went this year when I was around 4 months pregnant. We also have a 2 yo DD, so our touring pace is already slowed a bit.

Just make sure to check what rides you can ride, drink LOTS of water, and rest when you need it.

I like to refer to that second trimester as the Wonder Woman trimester.:lmao:

Truthfully, I felt great! I was about four months pregnant, and I specifically wanted one last trip before my son arrived. I made sure to stay hydrated, and take plenty of breaks when necessary, but honestly, it was a great time to go. I could eat all that yummy food, I felt really good, and had a good time.:goodvibes

My DH and I went when I was 5 mo pg. I agree with PP. This was my best part of the pregnancy. I had tons of energy and loved every minute of this trip. We splurged and stayed at a deluxe - AKL - and hung out at the pool a lot. Here's a pic of me and DH goofing off at Epcot!

Congrats on the pregnancy and have fun!

I went at 5 months. I was worried that I would be so tired, but I found I had plenty of energy once I hit the 2nd trimester. Just be sure to wear comfy shoes, that are not too tight, drink plenty, and rest as needed.

I went to DL when I was almost 4 months pregnant and it was great! I wasnt showing and wasnt too tired. It was chilly when I went in February though, so that probably helped out. And there is still so much you can do while pregnant at WDW. Just remember to drink plenty of water and have a great time!

I went at 15 weeks. I was just getting over my morning sickness, so every once and a while I just couldn't eat at dinner, but it was more good than bad. I did ok with fatigue. We went back everday in the mid-afternoon for a nap (which, coincidentally, is what we will be doing in October with our toddler :lmao: ). I did take one morning to just lounge by the pool while DH went out and rode all the coasters I couldn't (and wouldn't) ride. The ONLY thing that stunk were the beds at Pop. Man....it's like I could feel every single spring in the things OY!

Enjoy it! You will do GREAT!

ok... so i went at seven and half months....not smartest move. checked into BWV for 5 night, went to the bw and got a huge pizza....ate alot of it.....went to MK for a bit.......sicker than life....on the return bus......rushed to celebration hospital were I spent the next 4 nights due to putting myself into early labor. Yeah it wasnt pretty, however when the dr. told us that we may have to plan on an early baby in Florida...... my 10 yo gets so happy and excited and says"YES MOMA...... YOU MAY BE ABLE TO RIDE TOT AFTER ALL'
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: the dr. even lost it, oh how i love children.

So moral of the story......no pizza and long walk after.
So when we went back with child #3, i was only 5 months...shorter days and no pizza.

I'd much rather do Disney pregnant than with a newborn, that's for sure.

ITA there! I did Disney during two of my pregnancies-one when I was 7 1/2 months along. Maybe I'm strange, but I was so excited to be there that tiredness wasn't really an issue. Now swelling was a bit bothersome, but nothing major.

I was 5 months pregnant, and went fo a lost hooray! I was sad that I couldn't ride my favorite rides, but I consoled myself but shopping while my husband went on roller coasters and the safari ride. :) I went back to the hotel every day and took a nap and came back for the parades. Give yourself time. Every pregnancy is different and so is everyone's experience. You will do fine! :)

I went at 4 months and 5 months pregnant; like most others, we just took things slower than usual, I drank lots of water and rode lots of benches! I was thrilled that Soarin' didn't have any expectant mother precautions, so I rode that a few more times than usual.

I went to epcot at 4 1/2 months pregnant, I was just getting over the serious morning sickness and was only nausous when I was hungry, so I ate like crazy, I ate everything and everywhere...Hubby calls it my pigging out trip.....We chose Epcot cause its a slower pace, I loved it, I didnt do any major rides, just took my time and smelled the roses and ate......

This will be my 3rd trip pregnant...and I can't wait. All of that food just waiting for me!:rotfl2:

Anyway.. I see you are staying offsite. If at all possible, take an afternoon break. Swim a little or take a warm bath to relax your legs and back and then take a nap. You will feel so more much refreshed and will be able to hold up longer at night!

Definitely drink your water! Make sure DH reminds you too because it's so easy to forget while you're in the middle of everything!

Take advantage of your food options. If you are on a budget and can't do a lot of table service restaurants...why not try different items from CS around the world at Epcot.

While DH is on a ride you aren't allowed on, take that time to sit in the shade and drink some water. People watch! Or head into one of the shops for a baby souvenir! Don't forget to get "Baby's 1st Ears"!

Honestly, there is so much to do that it's hard to miss the "big" rides. ;)

Oh, and bring tissues. Once you step onto Main Street, the tears will pour out!

Have a great time!!!
