I went when I was about 5.5 months pregnant with my first child. I considered this my babymoon! My DH and I had been multiple times before and always went the less expensive route and stayed off site or at a value resort - which all were fine. But this time we splurged big time and stayed at AKL. My theory was that if I was going to be there, that I needed to take breaks during the day at the resort and I wanted a nice one to do it at. We went to the pool a lot and just took it easy around the resort. As for the parks, the list is short of what you shouldn't do. This is just off the top of my head, so if I missed any, please correct me:
- Tower of Terror
- Rock n' roller coaster
- Test Track
- Mission Space
- Mountains - splash, space, and big thunder
- Dinosaur
- Primevil Whirl
- Barnstormer
When you look at it this way, the list of what you can't do is much shorter than what you can do!
We went with the mindset that it was going to be a relaxing vacation. We saw alot of shows and just took our time throughout the park. I have to admit that it was hard passing up RRC and other thrill rides, but we definitely made up for it with food and relaxation. I say definitely go for it unless you are going to be really bummed about missing the rides.
Also, people said that Kilimanjaro Safari was one of the ones you should skip. I did it and made sure to ride in the front of the truck because it's less bumpy there. All was fine.
Plus, I get to tell my DD that she's already been to Disney once in my tummy. She gets a kick out of that! Congrats on the pregnancy!
