I saw reference to the Preferred viewing for Christmas parade on another thread. How does one access this? How do I find out about it?

There is a VIP seating spot to see "A Christmas Fantasy" parade during the Holiday season at DL. The preferred spot is right across from IASWH. The only way to get the VIP viewing spot which is actually seats for the parade is by signing up for the Holiday Tour. It costs about $68 per person and you can get discounts by having a DLR AP, DVC, Disney Visa, or AAA member. The seats do come with the Holiday Tour.

You can go to the Disneyland at Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread - Nov. 12, 2012 - Jan. 6, 2013!! which will tell you everything about the Holiday season at the DLR.

Thx! I have read a lot of the super thread but it is pretty meaty. I may have skipped pages 17-33 lol.
How do I organize holiday tour?

We got our preferred viewing tickets through a AAA package (we actually got them from a DIS member through the MM list, it was awesome!!!). They were across from IASW. It wasn't actually seating, but we got the only sitting spot available (we went quite early because it was the one thing my dad really cared about on our Christmas trip).

I understand that you can also get preferred seating that is the benches in front of the railroad station on Main Street, but I don't know how you get those seats. I thought those were the seats with the tour, but I honestly have no idea :confused3

We got our preferred seating for the Christmas Fantasy Parade with the holiday tour (as a PP mentioned). They were awesome seats directly across from IASW & we arrived pretty much just as the parade was starting. It was nice not having to stake out a spot for hours in advance!

We could have showed up last minute and still got standing room, and maybe even curb room, but this was the only sitting spot like that. We were so comfortable compared to the people shifting around on the cold ground of the curb.

Yes, the chairs they put out for the tour are nice. Do they still give cookies and hot chocolate with it?

In 2010 when we did the tour we were given them right as we were heading to our seats. Loved sitting there watching the parade with our drinks & snack! :) the plastic Christmas to-go mug that the hot chocolate came in made a great souvenir.

Awesome thread.. I just realized we'll be in the park during the Christmas Parade taping, looking forward to securing tickets for the tour!!

The Christmas Tours won't start until Nov 12th or so. The Haunted tours will end Oct 31st.

The Christmas Parade taping isn't the full parade. They bring down a float and do various shots of it and the dancers. Then they will stop and redo it from different angles. Last year we were there, and got to see the band also. It was fun the way they recorded it and the number of takes, without the band!

We do this tour every holiday we go to the park. We LOVE it!! It really is nice to get front of the line for IASW and HM, too. They seat you with a collector's mug and a ginger mickey. And you get a cool collector's pin as well.

I have so many trips planned.. I think I am going to make all of those..

It sounds like a lot of fun to watch the taping, I am looking forward to being in the parks during the holidays.
