I am going to be renting points for a vacation in March. I am not sure if I am going to do OKW, BCV or BWV but I am wondering what exactly the preferred view is at BWV as that is my first choice. I assume standard faces the parking lot area. Do the preferreds all face out towards the water and the boardwalk itself? If so, I think that would be worth the difference in price but if not and I am just looking at a pool or something, I don't want that.

Can someone tell me?

Thanks!

Standard views face the entrance road...not necessarily the parking lot. Boardwalk views face the Boardwalk. Preferred view is everything else. Most of the rooms will have a view of a pool and the canal to MGM. From some you will see a parking lot or service road (not only parking lots or service roads...but it can be part of the view).

At one time the Boardwalk view was just part of the "preferred" category...but now it is a separate classification. I don't know the chances of a non-BWV member getting this view (at this point they may be gone for March...you might have been able to guarantee it if you rented the points back in April from a BWV member and had the reservation made already)....but its probably the same as the chances of getting a standard view. Not impossible, but not the most likely either.

no, most Preferred View rooms do NOT overlook the Boardwalk and Crescent Lake.

most of them overlook the Pool + the canal that the boat to MGM travels on.
a very small number (mostly studios) overlook the garden courtyard with a glimpse of Crescent Lake.

keep in mind, there are now 3 room categories.
Standard, Preferred Pool/Garden, and Preferred Boardwalk.

if you want to overlook the Boardwalk + Crescent Lake, then you have to book the Preferred Boardwalk View.

if you are talking about this upcoming March, then most likely Std View + Boardwalk View are already sold out, since it is only 3 mos away now.

HTH.

Thank you both! Just the information I was looking for. Will keep it in mind for the October trip.
