Preferred parking worth it in October ?

Is the extra $5.00 for preferred parking worth it for the hopefully lesser crowds I would expect us to encounter in October (Columbus Day weekend, though...)

Do you plan on getting to the park early? This year we went on Memorial weekend and got there at 9:10am (park opened at 9) and we were parked about 5 spaces past the preferred parking area. This past weekend we got there about 10:30am (park opened at 9) and were about 2 rows away from preferred. So, if you plan on getting there fairly early I would recommend saving your money and just walking the extra steps.
