We'll be heading to the fort with our RV over Halloween week, and I'm still confused about the preferred loop situation. This has probably been asked plenty of times ...

Currently what are the preferred loops with full hook-ups? Also, which of those are pet loops?

I've read loop 1600-1900, 300, 700, 800 are the pet loops. Is this still the case. Previously my parents have stayed in loop 700 and thought it was preferred, but recently were told it's not a preferred loop?
Again, I apologize if it been asked plenty before, but I figure many on the DIS have recently been down to FW and can speak from experience. Thanks as always

300, 500, 700, 800 pet loops full hook-up with cable

900, 1600, 1700, 1800, 1900 pet loops full hook-up

Stayed in 800 loop last Christmas. Was a preferred (meaning it has cable) full-hookup pet loop. Good location - bus stop at front of loop, nice walk for little dog in back of loop, near the Trading Post, walkable to the Marina. (Want to stay there again, but next time would go for the golf cart just for convenience.)

Don't forget the lights to decorate with!

I stayed in the 700 loop in January and May and it definately was a preferred loop - meaning it has cable and it also is a pet loop. The preferred sites have cable whereas the full hookups do not have cable.

Thanks for all the the replies. As usual the DIS comes through when needed :thumbsup2

Looking forward to my vacation, but especially Halloween night in FW. IMHO, it's the perfect location in all of WDW for 10/31.

We will be there also this halloween. Have a full week from the 29 through the 5th of november. Can't wait.

We stayed in 1700 loop: full hook-up pet loop, no cable.

Been there a lot! Usually with DS & BIL in their RV. I think they stayed once for 5 consecutive months! I was usually looped enough not to know which loop I was in. The campground is the BEST place to stay, especially like decorations at Christmas!

FW is great at Halloween. Lots of people decorate, and I bet it's the only place in WDW where people trick-or-treat!

The Howards (almost always in 301) normally have a great set-up.

Is this the couple that "live" at Ft. Wilderness. Seems that I recall there is a retired couple that always have a specific site and are there most of the fall-spring seasons.

We were at the WL last year for Halloween. Our kids trick-or-treated at DTD and had lots of fun!

This year we will be in FW for Halloween. How is the trick-or-treating here? Do a lot of campers participate? Should I have candy ready to hand out?

I'm in the same boat, and we were pondering if we should get some candy to hand out?

Make sure you buy halloween candy that you enjoy so you can snack on it also as you hand it out. NOthing worse than receiving cheap candy from adults at halloween.

We will also be in FW from Oct. 26th - Nov 3rd. I wasn't planning on doing trick or treating in the campground because we have tickets to MNSSHP and our kids were going to trick or treat there. JMO but I wasn't planning on being at the camper for the festivities. Too bad we only have a week!
