Prefer pass discount question

This info is probably somewhere but I couldn't find the answer....

A group of five of us will be there five days in May, staying at Portofino. We have power passes. To get the discount on meals and shopping, etc, would all of us have to upgrade to prefer passes? Or could just one of us do it if paying for the whole group's meal?
