Prefer driving but should we bus it to HDDR?

I thought it might be a little inconvenient to park at the front of FW and take an interior bus but since we prefer to drive everywhere, had guessed that was best for us. Read a recent post that said its very hard to find a parking space and then there's a walk to the bus stop and a wait for internal bus.

Anyone drive to HDDR and decide they would not to that again? I've heard there are busses lined up to take you back to resort but is that only for the late show? We would be doing 7:15 show. POFQ is our resort if that factors in. Thanks.

We usually take the boat from either the Contemporary, the Wilderness Lodge or the MK. They will still be running after the 7:15 show. We were able to catch a boat after the 9:30 show in June (we got the last one, but we got one nonetheless). If you want to drive, drive to the WL and take the boat from there. It's a 5 minute ride, at most.

We have always taken the boat too after the first time. You just can't park close enough to make it worth while, and from the boat it is just a short walk from the dock.

Bus to MK and then boat to FW or drive to WL and boat to FW? Is there any worry that you might not make a boat ride back to WL? What loop does it do, does it take awhile to get back to WL?

You Could do either way, we usually just go on the Boat from MK, But there is no reason to worry about not making it back to WL. Many Times we have been on the boat during the MK fireworks, and can see the Castle change colors from the water. A little of the magic you might miss if you are driving

Boat runs until after 11 (used to end at 10, but they have changed that). Even if they go back to last boat at 10, you'll still be good, since the last show starts at 9:30 and all the 7:15 people have to be out well before the last show starts. If you have never seen the WL, give yourself a treat. Park there, so you can get to see the great resort. Walk through the lobby, past the pool and out to the lake. Catch the boat to FWC (the boat may go over to CR first - no problem, it's still a quick ride) and enjoy.

We did this last week. We took the boat from MK to Fort Wilderness. After the show there were buses lined up to go to all resorts. Our bus went to Coronodo Springs, The All Star Resorts and to Animal Kingdom Lodge our stop last of course but still only took a little while to get back to hotel.
