I didn't want to hijack another thread that was asking for advice so here goes.

What are your predictions on the Frozen ride? Hero or Zero?

If by "hero" you mean technologically advanced or highly innovative, you're barking up the wrong tree. The character faces will be cool (projections like the dwarfs in SDMT), but the project is literally just an overly over an existing ride track. So, no, sadly I'm not expecting to be blown away. It'll be fun, but it won't take your breath away.

Agreed! But I think wait times will not correlate with the quality of the ride experience.

Crazy long lines and wait times for much longer than you think! Hero or zero, kids will want to ride it and parents will be willing to wait for it!

Actually we really have no idea what is coming. The only things we know is though comments and a few photos from Disney a long time ago. The attraction has been totally gutted to bare track and some minor track changes. It has taken a long time to complete this, so it is likely( hoping) to be a great attractions, not a overlay.

I don't think I will like it as much as Maelstrom and that the reason likely won't necessarily be fair. I'm over Frozen because I feel like it is everywhere - and I really liked the movie; however, Maelstrom was my favorite ride in Epcot. I do think it will be pretty well done, though. I think the fact that you will either have to fast pass it or stand in line for 3 hours will really hurt people's perception of it, as well. I think it will likely be as cute as 7DMT, but not as thrilling and the line will be less interactive. This will make people even more aware of how long they are waiting and since the ride will be very short, they will be left disappointed. However, if the ride only had a 10 minute wait, I think that I, along with most of the guests, would really enjoy it.

I don't have any greater expectation that it will be anything other than Under the Sea With The Little Mermaid coupled with animated faces like those from the Mine Train. If I am right, it will be a hit with the 7 and under crowd, (hero), and might be a one and done for a lot of adults (zero). But I sincerely hope that I am wrong.

I was never impressed with Maelstrom, so I'm looking forward to something different there. My guess is that it will fall in line with some of the other attractions that I find entertaining (not highly entertaining :) ) such as... Ariel's under the sea, Star tours, Peter Pan, Tough to be a bug, etc...

Here's a teaser pic from inside, still not finished when it was taken

As far as the ride, it'll be a hit. Especially being another strong ride for Epcot.

The ones who won't like the ride will be the dads who don't want to wait 60-120 min in standby. And then you'll have the people that can't let Maelstrom go and hold a grudge so they already off the bat won't like the ride. But other than that, when taking into account the ride and not off how long someone is waiting in line, majority will love the ride.

And I'm sure standby will be a solid 60-120 min. I don't see a 3-4 hour wait for standby

It'll be a fun dark ride. I'm not expecting much more than that. However, I love the dark rides, so I think I'll really enjoy it.

I also think people's expectations might be a little lower for the Frozen ride because of 7dmt. A lot of people went into 7dmt thinking it was a lot different than it was, and were disappointed. So now some have their doubts on this ride.

We'll have to see. I probably won't go on the frozen ride until later in the year, so hopefully by the time I go it'll be a little easier grabbing a FP. Because I know I won't wait more than 30/45min for the ride. But waiting more than 45 min for any ride is too long imo
