I understand they allow preboarding for families travelling w/ children under 5....should I bring a birth certificate as proof? My children look older than they are!
Thanks!

Yes, if the flight is not full of famlies with children under 5 they will preboard. I would bring the certs. It never hurts.

When my kids were 5 and 8 we could pre board in CT but when leaving MCO they said there was no pre boarding. Just to many families with kids under 5, basically they would preboard the whole plane. My son looked bigger than 5, we just went to the area and were not questioned. I also found it wasn't that hard to find 2 seats together, noone wants to sit next to a child on a plane without the parent around.

edited to add: I always have their birth certificates when I fly as their identification, it never hurts to be prepared.

Thanks, I'll bring them! We are flying Phoenix to Ny, so I'm guessing the flight won't be swarming w/ kids!

How did you manage a preboard with an over 4 year old child?
Pretty clever. :)

The SW employees just sent us over to the preboard line, who was I to question. Because of a few medical reasons he was in a stroller, maybe that helped.

Probably. I would not have questioned either. :)
