Thought I would start a pre=trip report as we go in 29 days - now excited, if only they wouldnt predict that snow was not happening in the UK in October. Dont care so long as I can get out of the UK.

Cast

Me - 44 Rachel, mad about Disney and would go all the time if I could

DH - 43 Kevin, just as mad but for a different reason, but loves being in Disney just as much

This time we are just going on our own, whereas DD19 usually comes with us. Because we got such a good deal when we booked last September decided to go much later in the year (going October is nearly killing us), we usually go much earlier than that. DD cant come with us this year as she has taken a place at a primary school to be a teaching assistant before going onto university to study to be a primary school teacher. She will come with us next year as we are going to do the Disney cruise as well:banana:

Plans for this October/November

29th October - staying at Courtyard Marriott Gatwick hotel after dropping off suitcases at the airport. On the 11.15 a.m. flight the next day. Even though the clocks go back so for a week Orlando will be 4 hours behind us.
30th October - fly to Orlando with Virgin and staying at SSR
31st October - First day at Magic Kingdom, always a tradition, although planning to just do half a day. Eating at Sanaa tonight
1st October - Animal Kingdom. Eating at Yak and Yeti and then MNSSHP where we will be dressing up as Captain Hook and Jack Sparrow so should be a laugh
2nd October - Epcot. Eating at Kona Cafe
3rd november - having decided yet. Eating at Brown Derby and watching Fantasmic in the evening
4th November - shopping day. Eating at Cheesecake Factory (seen the recommendation from Wayne, so hoping to try this place)
5th November - Hollywood Studios. Eating at Tep Enedo
6th November - Going to see the Disney Dream to see what it looks like and maybe some more shopping:rotfl2:. Eating at California Grille tonight
7th November - No plans
8th November - Epcot and enjoying the food and wine offerings. In the evening going to the MVMCP which should be good
9th November - no set plans
10th November - Magic Kingdom as our last day :sad2:we usually do MK on our last day as well as the first

Going to be a bit weird going on our own but cant wait to be back at the happy place.

DD will be looking after the dogs whilst we are away so we wont have the expense of kennels this year, although we have to stock the fridge and freezer so not as as if we are saving anything:rotfl:

p.s. I am already packed so could go now if allowed:yay:

This year plan to buy an Ipad2, Dooney handbags and would like a multi coloured crystal Jiminy Cricket

Sounds lovely. You'll be arriving as we're flying home!

The plans sound great Rachel - just don't you be wishing my holiday away so yours gets here quicker

That last picture you posted, when was that taken? You both look so young :thumbsup2

Sounds like a perfect trip!

You'll LOVE The Cheesecake Factory - I promise!

Only 4 years ago:lmao:

Oops :rotfl2:

I know - wondered whether we might see you and Joanne as we arrive, you guys checking out to fly home:sad2:

Well, Tony and Theresa are flying back from Miami so they will be leaving fairly early that day and I suspect you will be long gone from MCO by the time we arrive (our flight isn't until 8.30ish).

When you go to Cheesecake Factory, I would recommend that you order the 'lunch portion' of whatever you fancy, if it is available as the portions are HUGE! The vanilla bean cheesecake is lush, as is the key lime pie cheesecake. Apparently, they are doing a seasonal peppermint bark cheesecake also but not sure if this will be available by the time you go. Can you tell we like it there :rotfl:
