GASP!!!
How did this happen?
It's been 2 months since I last posted anything new here! I feel so ashamed.
On the up side since I have not posted lately I DO actually have news to add about our upcoming trip which just so happens to only be 28 days away! I am happy to say that everything seems to be falling into place so far. So here's the latest update....
I did finally purchase tickets for our flights! Not quite the price I was hoping for but I am glad to see that I have not seen the price take a huge dip since I purchased them. I figured that would happen the day after I bought them and I would end up sad for not getting a better deal. They have already contacted me once and changed the flight times. Not really crazy about it but the time is still within an hour of my first choice so it should work almost as well.
Next, on my agenda, I have all my dining reservations made. Since we have worked overtime on earning our Disney Visa Reward Dollars we will be eating inside the park more than we ever have before. In all our years in the park we have usually kept it to one meal a day and then most often gone with takeout from an outside source for our other meal. Thanks to those cash back dollars though I have booked 10 reservations. Plus we will be dining at an assortment of other in park locations that do not take reservations.
Here's my plan:
Nov. 18 - Jolly Holiday Bakery, lunch & Plaza Inn, supper
Nov. 19 - Jazz Kitchen, lunch & Village Haus, supper
Nov. 20 - Flo's, brunch & Carthay Circle, supper
Nov. 21 - Rainforest Cafe, lunch & Royal Street Veranda, supper
Nov. 22 - DL Hotel Grand Buffet, lunch & Carnation Cafe, supper
Nov. 23 - Tour/lunch & Blue Bayou, supper
Nov. 24 - Bubba Gump, lunch & Take out, supper
Nov. 25 - Mimis, lunch & Edelweiss Snacks, supper
Nov. 26 - Naples, lunch & Hungry Bear, supper
Nov. 27 - French Market, lunch & Stage Door Café, supper
Nov. 28 - Café Orleans, lunch & Riverbelle Terrace, supper
Nov. 29 - Taste Pilot's Grill & Wine Country Trattorria, supper Trattoria
Nov. 30 - Blue Bayou or Rainforest Cafe, lunch & Corn dog & turkey leg, supper
Airport parking reservations are made, boarding arrangements for the dog and cat are made, house sitter lined up, stocked up on clothing essentials, Nook loaded with reading material for the flight, reservations with Dolphin's Cove confirmed. Not a lot left to do. I need to transfer the rewards dollars over, book the Walk w/Walt tour, order our groceries, put a hold on our mail and that should just about do it!
In the meantime I have a huge task to help me eat up the time until our trip gets here. I have been a Premium membership subscriber with Webshots since September 2007. I currently have over 9400 photos on their site, many of which have been linked to in my past trip reports. I just recently learned that the current Webshots site is being replaced, and all photos will be removed by November 15 which means I now have to download all of my photos back to my computer and upload them elsewhere so I will be able to share. The good news is that I have looked over Smugmug and think it will work nicely. The other somewhat bad news is that it is going to be very time consuming and take me forever to go back through all my threads and replace every photo with a new link. No doubt I will probably miss a few photos floating around out there somewhere on misc. threads so they will forever be dead links. I would like to apologize in advance if you happen to run across any of them. Right now I am feeling a bit under the weather and I am currently supposed to be in trip planning mode so I am not really feeling quite into pouring back over photo files and repairing the damage that is about to be done to all my poor links but I am going to at least make an attempt. So far I have changed 4 photo links as a test. Unfortunately, day to day real life also tends to interrupt me so I'm thinking it's gonna be a long drawn out process.
