Pre-Trip Report for Three Princesses and a June Trip to the World, 6/24 We're Back!!

3 months you get off lightly my DD's can mess their rooms up within about 3 minutes :rotfl2:
Yes well actually I should have said it gets messy and disorganized progressively three minutes after its clean...until three months later you have to do something or else call in a bomb squad to investigate what exactly happened.:rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Cathy, I love your itinerary. We did DTD on our first day (on both trips) too and just loved it!! Such a great way to get into the Disney spirit! :cloud9: Love the entire plan!! Very exciting!!

I remember eating Spam as a kid when we went on holidays (imagine what we ate at normal times of the year :lmao:). Anyway, I'm vegetarian now. I wonder why?! :teeth:

Thanks for the donuts Disneyolic!! :woohoo:

DisneyJo, I heard about the earthquake in Kent. I believe nobody was killed. I hope that's correct. Anyway, just wanted to say I hope you and yours are all okay.
I hope it all works out. Of course thats part of the fun huh....planning and then seeing what actually happens. Which may or may not be anything like The Plan! :confused3
I have never eaten nor will I ever even taste Spam. Yuck!
I havent kept up with the news and didnt know about the earthquake...I hope everyone is ok!!!

We're fine thanks it was about 30/40 miles away on the coast, we didn't feel a thing! Apparently only 1 person was hurt which is good news it could have been so much worse! It was a 4.7 quake but I don't know if thats big or not :confused3

Yikes! I am so glad you are ok Jo! And everyone else. I think 4.7 is pretty significant....was the epicenter in Atlantic or on-shore?

I AM FINALLY CAUGHT UP WITH THIS WONDERFUL PRE TRIPPIE!! :woohoo: Well it looks we will be in the same places at the same time (sometimes), we better see eachother!! We will be at MK on the 19th, Typhoon Lagoon on the 20th, AND AK on the 22nd! Keep up with this Pretrippie, I love it!!!

Hi  again Cindy...welcome back! Thanks for coming along!! :goodvibes
I will have to give you my cell phone number so we can meet up...where are you staying again???

Yikes! I am so glad you are ok Jo! And everyone else. I think 4.7 is pretty significant....was the epicenter in Atlantic or on-shore?
It was a few miles off shore in the North Sea, goodness knows what the damage would have been if it had been closer

What a great pre-trip report ! I just completed reading the whole thread.

Looking forward to reading the rest.

Your daughters are adorable!

Oh dear Jo - glad you never felt it. A 4.7 earthquake, had it been on land where you are, could have caused significant damage. California's earthquakes, when they hit up to 7 are considered extremely dangerous, so you can get an idea. There was an earthquake about 5+ years back that was over 100 miles away from here and yet our whole house shook, some pictures fell off some shelves, and a water main line broke. I believe that earthquake was about a 6. It was pretty scary and I remember running into Alec's room (he was a baby) grabbing him and then running to get Evan when the quake stopped. It was freaky as we are not used to having them in NY.

DM I can't believe it wasn't far off the US quakes, little old England just never gets them and hopefully this isn't the start of them! Glad you were safe when you had one I bet it was hard knowing which bedroom to grab a kid from first!

This may sound bad but it wasn't a hard decision. I knew to grab Alec first, as he was a baby. I then ran to get Evan who was just over 2 and could walk himself. I figured Evan could follow me to the doorway. I don't know if that is good enough reasoning but it is what came to my head first. Rob (DH) was at work at that time so it was just me and the 2 boys. Most probably we didn't even need to get up and at first I didn't but then when it wasn't stopping right away, I ran out of bed. I wasn't even sure what to do either but had remembered someone mentioning once that standing in a doorway was one of the safest spots. I don't know though.

Oh, is this still Cathy's thread? :lmao:

I see Cathy is online but why is she taking so long to "reprimand" us? Or maybe she just left it on. I do that all the time - leaving it on all day even though I'm not here. ;)

Well I'm off in a few minutes to watch Lost then bed, it's nearly 10pm here! And I do the same leave the Dis on another tab whilst I go do the Dinner or something  see you tomorrow :wave2: Night night Cathy

Goodnight Jo. Sweet dreams....after Lost.

Nighty Night or Good Morning DM! ...depending on when you get back here!!! :beach: Have a great day! :)

Hello All!
Tonight we will be enjoying Dole Whips! Which are what?? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 I have never actually had one but they sound intriguing. So all you experts....what are they?

The other thing I was thinking about was about Mousekeeping. I wanted to decorate an envelope (one per day) and put a tip in for each day. Generally how much do you all tip each day? I was thinking along the lines of $5 or $6 a day. Is this pretty standard or no?

I have also started looking into a possible delivery by the Garden Grocer. My DD 2.5 loves milk. (Seriously folks she can't get up in the morning without it...She calls it Moi) Since POR has in-room fridges, it would be nice to have milk in there for mornings and evenings. Also, we plan to eat breakfast in the room most mornings. I was thinking of getting some breakfast foods and maybe some midnight snack stuff. Also, one set of water (bottles) would be nice. It would be that much stuff I don't have to lug down there. However, the other thought was maybe I should bring an extra suitcase with all this stuff (minus the milk) and then "if" we buy any souveniers, we would have this suitcase to bring stuff back in. I say "if" cause I can see us not buying anything significant. I love to window shop but other than pressed pennies and some Disney earings and maybe a toy or two...that is about all I envision.

OK well those are my thoughts and ramblings on this fine Sunday evening. By the way, today was quite nice. My DH and DD's started their veggy garden today. We love fresh veggies during the summer! And DD9 was busy repeating some of the things we talked about on our date to her best little girlfriend. (My brainwashing tactics are obviously working!;) ) OK its off to get ready for a busy week!

Oh my I forgot to tell you all one more thing:

ONLY 50 MORE DAYS!!!! :woohoo: :cool1: :cheer2:

Finally, not that it has one thing to do with Disney, but I thought I would include a picture of my DD9 riding a few weeks ago! We just changed barns and are very happy at our new place of instruction: Here she is:

OK Good Night All!

Good Morning all (well it's pm here!), thanks for the good night wishes although DM not sure after watching Lost how sweet they were

Cathy we stayed at POR in 2005 and loved it but the fridge is not enormous so don't order too much! Are you on the DDP (sorry can't remember!) if so apparently a big carton of milk is classed as a snack credit which would be great value.

Love the photo of your DD riding!

BTW I haven't had a dole whip yet either but can't wait to try one think I'm going to go for the float, there again we're there for 14 days so I could try both :thumbsup2

Good morning everyone, but Jo. Good afternoon Jo! ;)

You all like my GIFs? I cannot reveal my source....then all of you would use them and I wouldn't be the most popular girl around!

Dole Whips...what can I say about them? I know - yuck. I just had to have one as everyone hyped them! I definitely did not like it nor did Rob. However, try the virgin strawberry/pina colada smoothies. They are awesome!!!!

As far as Mousekeeping goes, I think we tend to leave about $4 a day. Maybe I am a bit on the cheap side but we don't leave big messes. On days that I ask for something extra, like extra towels or a sheet change, I do leave more.

Flame suit is on! We didn't tip mousekeeping till our last day last trip then it was only about $15 for a 14 night stay! We just didn't know you were meant to and over here you don't tip, it was also pre DIS days, this time I'll know better :thumbsup2 Oh we did get quite a few towel animals too so it obviously doesn't matter! Cathy I found ages ago a load of pretty Disney mousekeeping pictures to print onto envelopes, search on here otherwise let me know and I'll PM them to you, they're stored on my other PC or I'd do it now!
