Hi Hi,

hhmmm..where to start.

The We in We is DH:love: {51} and me :lovestruc {44}, we live in texas and our children are in :wizard: :wizard: princess: college and our grandchildren see saw between pre K :wizard: princess: and first gradeprincess: . We will be doing a big family trip in December, but this report is about our 1st trip without the kids and grandkids and as AP holders.

So.. some basics.

We are just purchased APs, WhY?!, We live in texas, not california!
Well, we live in far west texas and it's closer for us to go to california for the weekend than it is to go to hill country. We go to california once every 4 to 6 weeks for a 4 day weekend. The Bowers Museum in Santa Ana is one of our favorites..if You haven't been there, GO! They have world class exhibits and the museum itself is approachable, engaging and truly Special.

We are traveling by Southwest Airlines. Love their Rapid Reward frequent flyer program. We utilize it to the best of it's service ability for our benefit. This trip we will be using free tickets, so the flight only cost us the 9/11 and airport taxes.

The hotel we are staying at is The Holiday Inn on Walnut. We stayed there in Feb. 2008 and found it to be nice and clean with a resturant on site { when we were there in feb. children ate free} We also like that this hotel has a shuttle to take you to and from the park.;)

So money wise..here is where we stand:teacher:

2 Premium Annual Passes @ $389 each
{ We selected this type of pass because we like to go on trips at the spur of the moment and this pass suits our needs of no restrictions}

2 Round Trip Flights from El Paso to John Wayne @ $30
{ a guesstamite at the airport fees and taxes. probably less}

Oct. 4th thru 7th Hotel Stay @ $271 Total Prepaid
{They have a discount if you prepay the total when you book, however no refunds on that.}

I think we will spend about $100 a day for the two of us for food.

We haven't made any PS, who knows where we will be at any given moment of this trip. It's all about the journey and wherever it takes us at Disneyland i am sure there will be something delicious near by.

A favorite place to eat of ours is the Cafe Orleans. Items we like from there are ..the La Salade de Maison, it's a lovely salad tre` delish! Also we share a Mardi Gras Chicken Sandwich and a order of the worlds most yummilicious Pommes Frites.

Sometime new we are going to try is having breakfast at the park. In the past we have had children with us and so it was important to keep their eatting habits in a pattern they were used to, so we always had oatmeal and fruit in the room. This time my DH wants to have breakfast in the park, so I'll post where we had it and what it was like when i return.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

We are also looking forward to doing the wine tastings and having the cheese and olive platter with the wine in the late afternoons.:love:
