We normally forego the photo package but will buy one or two at the end of the cruise I noticed there's a discount on prepurchase of the unlimited package. Anyone have a current price list of photo purchases available on the ship? I wanna compare price per picture and see how many pictures would be the break even point.

Have I read that you can cancel the package on the cruise if you decide against it? Then pick a photo or two if that’s all you like?

(To answer my question, this is from DCL website:)

Q: Can I cancel my digital photo package?

A: Yes. If you purchased your package before your cruise and wish to cancel before the departure date, you can do so online up to 3 days prior to departure. Simply log in to My Reservations and navigate to the My Plans tab. You may also cancel your order on board before the end of your cruise, provided that you have not downloaded any digital photos while on board.

Going to hop on this to ask another photo question. If we have two rooms booked together, does each room need a photo package to get all the photos?

It will depend on who is in the photo. There is a nuance to this.

Keep watching to see what experiences people share.

Typically, each room will have it's own package. So, if room A purchases a package, any photos taken that have at least one person from room A in them, those will be included in the package. Any photos that only have people from room B in them will not.

There's usually a deal where, if one room purchases a full photo package a second room can purchase it for 50% off. However, the second room package can't be purchased until onboard.

The exception to this general rule is when you’re a family (parents with kids, for ex. but not extended family) booked across two rooms, then you can share one package for everyone.

It will be my kids and husband and I in one room and grandparents in the other room, so I’m guessing that will count as extended family?

No, extended family is parents & their children. I don't believe that Grandparents are included.

From the FAQ on the DCL site:

Q:
My immediate family is traveling in multiple staterooms. Is it possible to link several staterooms under one photo package?
A:
Joining your stateroom photos with photos from another stateroom into a single account is only available (i) once a package is purchased and (ii) if you have children (immediate family only) under 21 in the stateroom you wish to join to your account. Anyone else age 21 and over in the joined stateroom will not be in the photos in your package or available for onboard or post-cruise downloading. You must specifically request the joining of staterooms to a crew member in Shutters Photography Shop.

Great info - thanks! ... being a DCL newbie, is the $349.95 item good for a whole year? ... or a lifetime? LOL
The "Unlimited" photo package price varies by length of cruise. I believe the $349.95 price is for a 7-night cruise. It's all pictures on that one cruise; I think you have maybe 60 days to download (? not sure on that).

Yes, we were able to cancel ours on board. We purchased the photo package on a cruise with just my husband and I and we really only ended up with one photo we wanted. So while on board we cancelled the photo package and purchased the individual photo instead.

We were told you have to have someone in the room with the photo package in the photo for it to be included. So lets say room "A" has the purchased photo package any photos with any guests from that room are included. So any individual photos or groups without someone from room A in them were not included.

Just following this thread. I was trying to buy my pre-cruise photo package and noticed they don't show the 10 photo or 15 photo packages, just the unlimited package. Can you only buy the unlimited packages now online and have to pay the higher price for the 10 photo package on the ship? I would have to assume they still sell those other packages onboard, anyone who recently sailed know the price? i would think it is still $149.00 for 10 photo's.

I am heading out on the Treasurer this March and wanted to plan that out. Thanks in advance! :)

I believe only the unlimited package is available for pre-cruise purchase. The smaller packages should be available to purchase onboard.
