Today I booked a pre-paid ADR for December. It just occurred to me that I must have paid the child price for my 9-year old. She will turn ten a couple of weeks before our trip. Her DOB is in MDE, so my question is will they charge my credit card the difference between the child price and the adult price once she becomes a Disney adult?

Why mention it.

Let's look at the menu. Will your child be happy with what is on the kids menu? If you think she will want more than the child's offering I would change in my own. CRT is not a buffet or aycte meal so that chicken drumstick at dinner may not be enough to satisfy her.

We had to feed our 9 year old after crt because that kid's meal was so puny.

Op I'd plan to be charged. Get there and tell them. Either they'll charge (which you'll expect) or they won't (which will be lovely and will cause the urge to tip more).

We used an adult credit to feed my little girls. No way was that little drummie going to be enough. And they were 5 and 7 st the time

Thanks for the replies. It is actually for the MK dessert party. I will probably just give Disney a call to see what the policy is when a child turns ten between the time of making the reservation for a pre-paid and the time of the reservation itself.

I noticed this as well. My DD is 9 now, but will be 10 when we go. All of our ADRs show as 3 adults and 1 child. Her birthdate is in the MDE profile. I went to change her age, and it would not allow me without changing her birth year (and that would make her birth year incorrect).

We were paying OOP. And we TRIED to get him to eat some of our food (the yummy gnocchi) but to him it looked weird. Not 6 months later he was eating things like that (his enjoyment of "weird" foods expanded like flipping a switch, it was awesome), but at that time, nope. Cheeze pizza and then whatever we got him later.

I'd call and have them fix it.

If she had changed ages *while already at Disney* they wouldn't charge the difference (but she's only going to get that child's offering).

She's aging up NOT at Disney. She's supposed to pay adult price. The system has glitched and isn't aging her properly. The people on the phone are in a call center, likely aren't in Florida, and might never have been to the parks. They cannot answer for how it will be once you're there. If THEY say it's no problem, then it's a problem once you're there, well who wants that? You know she'll be 10, I assume you were willing to pay the cost, so just go budgeted to pay the true cost for her, and tell them when you get there. Let the people who are running the place make the call. :)

Absolutely. I was planning to pay the cost but was curious if Disney would charge my cc for the difference on her birthday (since it is in the system) or when we are actually there a few weeks later. Not a big deal. I just thought someone on the board may have had experience with this.

I can't believe I will have two Disney adults on our next trip. It definitely changes the way we dine!

I know someone running in to this with a child that is 2 now but will be 3 when they take their trip. They are booking a couple prepaid items, like a dessert party. MDE isn't charging for the child today, because he's showing as 2, even though he'll be 3 when they actually attend. I advised her to call and purchase his ticket manually, or purchase an additional one online, and assign it the child when he turns 3. I guess MDE just can't "see" the age at the time of the event, it only sees the age now. This is probably one glitch I can understand it makes.

Had this happen before. It is a MDE week spot. CMs are aware of the issue at the restaurant. When you check in at the podium the CM will verify information on the reservation, and may or may not correct the charge at that time. Not much you can do until then.
