I am planning my first trip to DLP (I'm soooo excited :yay: ). I am thinking of getting the VEA coach from CDG (as it's easier) and the TGV back (as it's quicker and I'll have more time).

Has anyone ever booked their TGV tickets in advance and if so which web site did you use? I have been looking at raileurope.co.uk - are they any good?

All advice very much appreciated. Thanks.

When we travelled to dlp via lille, the tgv service tickets were actually booked by the staff at eurostar and they sent the tickets as well. I'm sure the advisor said that they are all part of the same company. poss worth giving them a ring, either way, they would prob point you in the right direction!

I pre-booked my TGV tickets with Rail Europe. The tickets were delivered to my home address the day after I booked them online (and this was without paying for express delivery)!

I also use the VEA to DLRP, and the TGV back.

I had to return my tickets to Rail Europe once for a refund - their customer service was excellent, couldn't fault them (their head offices are in London).

Hope this helps,

Elaine

Do you think the TGV is better than the VEA back then? Was it easy to do?

Do you know why the VEA recommend you get the coach back to CDG at least 2 and a half hours before check-in? Sounds like a long time to spend at the airport to me!

I get the VEA to DLRP from CDG because the times of the VEA are much more frequent than the TGV at the time we arrive at CDG - so by the time we changed terminals to get the TGV, waited on the next train etc, we'd be at the hotel with the VEA (and no change of terminal to catch the VEA).

On the return journey though, I found it really easy to do the TGV, and it mean at least another hour in the parks compared to getting the VEA from the hotel. I took our cases to the train station in the morning (or you can use Guest Services at the park to store your cases) then when it was time to say goodbye to DLRP, walked straight from the park to the train station to catch the TGV. It arrived bang on time, and 10 minutes later we were at CDG. Getting from terminal to terminal was easy with the internal airport train too, we are at terminal one for our flight, and the internal train stop at terminal one was literally down the escalator, and there we were at our check-in desk.

With the VEA, I usually have got it at the hotel about 3 hours before our flight departure time (even at 5pm, the VEA didn't take much longer than one hour to do the journey from our hotel (first pick-up) to the airport).
