Pre assigned rooms?

I just checked into SSR yesterday at 10am. The desk showed be a list of rooms available and they let me pick. How cool is that.

That happens at checkin alot. We've always gotten a choice of a few rooms.

It is called "room ready" and it has been in effect for some time. They use it a lot but NOT always. Seems to be up to the resort and the management. Some use it during busier times only.

I love room ready but wait for the flames from those arriving late, like people from the west coast. They claim they get lousy rooms because all of the good rooms were taken by the early arrivers.

I'm glad you were pleased with the choice of "ready rooms". Room ready gets a big thumbs up from me as well.

that is very kewl that you could choose......! we are going on 12/3 and hope we also get choices, but we need 2 x 2bdrms, and a studio for our family gathering.

What are the odds we get our choice of Congress Hall for the 3 units we reserved?

I agree, the early bird gets the owrm or in this case the room.

Yep, which is why when we take a late flight we stay at a value and then go check in at DVC early the next morning! Then we're also not wasting our points (of which we own far too few ) on that night when we're not getting in until very late.

That's a good move. Luckily, We've always been able to get to WDW early. So the first day was never really a waste of points. But if we ever get there late I'll try to remember that.

I have heard that in cases of people traveling together and medical requests that they pre-assign the rooms. Don't know how accurate this is, but wouldn't be surprised. You might get rooms together but might not get CP.
