Prayers & Pixie Dust Needed....kinda silly reason, but necessary!

Well, we leave on Wednesday for Orlando, and would you believe....................I just found out that I have to get a root canal tomorrow morning!!! Egad!
Totally throws a wrench in my last minute *shopping, packing, Christmas card writing, and everything else one does moments before a cruise list*. I know to most people it isn't that big a deal, but shots positively<b> kill me,</b> and I will need plenty of prayers and pixie dust floating around the dentist office tomorrow! </b>

Yuck, I have never had a root canal but they really don't sound like fun. I hate shots too....I am sending lots of pixie dust your way....Good luck with the root canal and have a great cruise...

I've just been thru the Root Canal Biz and if your dentist is good should not really be too bad and great for the diet for the first couple of days!LOL

Hey, we were just in your town this last week end with my son's pop warner football teams! Our game was canceled but we wanted to take the kids anyway because they were looking forward to it. Stayed at Circus Circus of course! I didn't do as good as our trip several weeks ago - I told my hubby it's because my lil ones distracted me My girlfriend who is a dental assistant was with us (and her son). The conversations she had with dealers about dental work was so funny! Most Popular request: Eliminate all shots - can't you just rub on the numb stuff!

WEAR HEAD PHONES! LOUD! I do, they just signal to me and I find that the music distracts me!

I hate the dentist! Even though my brother is one Especially before a cruise because your teeth can be sore. You can purchase the baby teething oral jel stuff if your gums are sore or other gum numbing products. I have to use that stuff just after a CLEANING! Sore gums are better then being on the ship and needing a root canal! Don't forget the Tylenol or whatever your dentist recommends also. Root canals are not as bad as having your wisdoms removed! Oh my, your whole bite changes and you feel like a goof ball just trying to chew!~

Hey....we were also just in town last week. Stayed at the Bellagio from Sunday to Wednesday and took the red eye back to New York. We must have walked a million miles checking everything out.

It was our first time and we had a blast. Our friend had a conference and asked us to join them. Won a little and came home happy!!!!

Two of my teens had root canal and said it was no big deal. That coming from teen who is petrified of needles. Good luck!!! Sending pixie dust.

Ahhh.....I feel your pain and send lots of *pixie dust* your way. Last thing I'd wanta do before my cruise! Don't particularly like needles in my mouth either...but the fear is worse than the procedure. Best wishes and hope you have a great cruise!

My dentist sent me to a "pro" (translated can't remember the correct word for dentist who does only root canals). they had it down to a pat routine and I was in and out in 45 mins (or less) no pain and would only do it that way again.

Sending PD and just said a prayer for you to be able to accomplish all that you think needs done and an easy procedure - go and enjoy!

But as my DH always tells me when Im running around panicking before a trip...Relax, everything will be fine, youll get it all done, and be off on a great vacation before you know it. Of course, I never listen to him, so I dont blame you for not listening to me, LOL!

Hopefully by now all is done and you are fine. I had a root canal last year, it was a back molar which took four visits to get it all. It really was much better than I had anticipated. (the vicadan they gave me helped that perception ) I hope you are recouping well.. see ya in a few days...

Pixie dust coming your way. I just had root canal 2 weeks ago and have to go back to have the crown put on this week. I had the same thing happen last year, another root canal 5 days prior to our cruise. Hope all goes well.

I absolutely love you all! I really appreciate the wonderful thoughts, pixie dust and prayers. It actually was so much better than I had remembered from the last one. I was referred to a specialist, and he was a champ! He even gave me glasses to wear, and in the lenses were little tvs so I was able to watch "Friends" the whole time!
