Hi everyone.
I haven't had time lately to visit the DIS, being a dad to T 2 young DS's (4 and 6), but I need your help.
You may remember, around mid-August, when I post a prayer request about David (he's now DS4) having the tip of a middle finger almost severed. Well, he came through that with flying colors and I have the utmost respect for his plastic surgeon.
Now, David has another crisis to endure. Here's a brief history......
DW and I had noticed that, for the past year, David had REALLY dry skin patches. At David's 4 year old "checkup", the doctor suggested a skin moisturizer. Meanwhile, they did a blood "workup" on David and everything looked "normal".
Since his checkup, David's skin (even after applying the moisturizer) has become, seemingly, more dry. Also, he's developed bruises on about 10-15 places on his body. (yes, he gets spanked, but there are no bruises on his "bottom"). These bruises are in weird locations (for example... on his belly and on his side).
Concerned, we agreed for DW to take David to the pediatrician again and he went in yesterday. Immediately, he was diagnosed with a "blood disorder" and was sent to the hospital for blood tests. The doctor (knowing David is active in sports) advised us to cancel anything (concerning sports) until after the first of the year. Less than 3 hours later (around 5pm) the doctor called and said that David may have Leukemia.
We are now about ready to leave for the Detroit Children's Hospital for further tests. Please keep my son David in your prayers.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Dave Rider
