I just found out my sheltie has lymphoma..the agressive kind.
We have an appointment for the 25th. They (oncologist vet) can't see us sooner.
Pray that I make the right choices for my girl.

That's ten days away.....when my lab was diagnosed, he was placed on prednisone, and within 24 hours, his appetite and energy level increased dramatically. If your precious pup is feeling bad, please ask your vet if that is an option until you see the oncologist.

Treating her sooner will absolutely give her a better chance~

I'm not in the Philly area, I'm in the Memphis area.

When my vet called me with the news, she recommended this partictular
vet. I asked about the wait time, and she said the oncologist agreed that since I caught it early, the wait won't make a big difference. I found the lump Sunday night, took her to vet on Monday morning and they had the results back from the lab this morning(Tuesday).
My vet said if she started having any problems, of course, take her there right away.

To the person who suggested prednisone, I was advised to wait until I made a decison on a treatment plan as prednisone would interfere with the other chemo drugs if it was started alone before the other drugs.
As of now she is feeling fine and has no symptoms other than a enlarged lymph node.

Your sheltie is beautiful, lots of good thoughts and prayers coming your way. My first furbaby is a Sheltie, we got her almost 11 years ago when she was just a baby. They are wonderful animals.

I am so very sorry. I am thinking about your beautiful furbaby! I have been in your position and I know how extremely hard this is. My beautiful lab was only 8 when he was diagnosed. I work for a vet opthamologist so we weighed all our options. Unfortunately, he had more than 8 tumors we could feel just to the touch. I will tell you I was told once you start a treatment of pred then chemo was no longer an option by our regular vet. We did go the pred route because of the amount of tumors and progression of the lymphoma. The pred helped him tremendously. We also got a drug for stomach upset along with the pred as the pred will cause bad stomach problems.
