Prayers and PD for my little guy.(Update pg. 4)

More prayers for your little guy. Keep us posted when you can.

Has your Pediatrician suggested giving him Tylenol and Motrin together?? When my youngest DD was sick with a very high fever (3 months old) and after that several times I was told to give her Tylenol first and then take her temp after an hour. If the temp was still high, then give her Motrin. Then after 4 hours after the Tylenol wore off, start the process over again.

I did this many times, and it did help alot. Has your Pediatrician done an RSV test on him? My youngest DD had RSV twice in her life and it does cause a fever. It never caused this high of a fever, but everyone is different. Ask about RSV and see what the doctor says.

Both of my girls have had times in their lives when they were both very very sick and it's physically and emotionally draining on them and you. I will keep you all in my prayers - God Bless!!!

I'm taking him back to the Dr. again today. His temp shot up to 106.0 last night. The Dr. actually told me not to worry if it went up that high - but he's so limp its hard for not to worry.

What kind of doctor doesn't worry about a 106 degree fever? What kind of a parent? I would be out of my mind with worry. More {hugs} to you and your family.

:grouphug: I hope the little guy starts to feel better real soon.

Even though he is not coughing, has anyone thought of RSV? It is not just babies who get it, and can cause the fevers, lethargy and congestion.

A lot of Dr's don't worry about this high of a fever with a child, while it is scary, it isn't normally life threatening.

He really sounds like he has influenza. Did they check him for that?

:grouphug: - Sure hope he starts to feel better soon. I would be out of my mind with worry.

There is nothing worse than seeing our sweethearts sick and there is nothing we can do to help.

Keep us posted.

I hope you get some answers and that he's feeling better soon! So scary when our little ones are sick, especially when they don't bounce back quickly.

Heather,

Bless his heart! So glad you are taking little Luke back to dr today. I hope you get some answers. Experience with our local peds, they don't dilly dally w/temp of 106* would require medical attention asap. As suggested, did dr recommend alternating M&T, cool baths or rub, etc? I feel your pain hon and sure hope your little man feels better real soon. Continued prayers ^i^ and pls keep us udated. (Hugs)

 Lots of hugs and pixie dust for you little guy. Hope he gets better soon.

Some children just run really high fevers. I got strep throat about 5 times a year all throughout elementary school. And I would run a temperature of about 105-106 each time. I never needed to be admitted to a hospital, it was just how my body handled an illness. If the doctor isn't worried, as long as he stays hydrated he should be fine (fever wise).

Thanks for your prayers everyone!

I just got back from the DR.'s with Luke a little while ago. Dr. seems to think he has an infection on his adenoids pushing through to his sinuses. He went over him with a fine tooth comb. Luke was really scaring me today - he was even more listless than he was yesterday...and yesterday he was really bad!

The dr. isn't ruling out Kowasaki disease - he gave me a list of symptoms to watch out for, and if he shows any one of those symptoms - he gave me his home # to call him at.

Hopefully the Augmentin kicks in soon and my little guy bounces back!

:grouphug: Hope he's better soon....I would rather be sick than see one of my kids sick.

The son of one of my neighbors years ago had Kowasaki syndrome. Isn't that something they need to treat immediately?

Hope your little guy feels better soon. Is he the cutie in your sig?

I hope the augmentin works quickly and it is an infection and not anything else! Did the Dr. do any blood work?? That can often tell a lot.

Prayers for Luke and you. :goodvibes

He didn't do blood work. He's pretty confident that it's a really bad infection with the adenoids (which could explain his sudden onset of snoring). He just wants me to keep an eye out for these other symptoms as a precautionary. I don't know how the dr. that he saw yesterday could miss this infection - but I'm pretty ticked off about it. He's still sleeping right now - he's had 2 doses of the Augmentin so far - and gets one more before bed. Hopefully by tomorrow he starts to perk up. I miss playing with him!
