Prawn Heads & Cupcakes & Soups, Oh My! 10/5 Complete (now with my Dining Wish List)!

Wow, both your cupcake choices look divine!! I'd definitely be up for trying either. I've read some very positive reviews of Babycakes lately and although I don't have any allergies or sensitivities, I'm still very interested in giving it a try. That French Toastie cupcake sounds like a great choice! Your reviews and amazing pics always make me feel like I'm right there, now if only I could manage a cyber-taste of some of those goodies I'd be one happy camper! :rotfl2:
Both cupcakes were very good! I definitely think Babycakes is worth a try - I can't vouch for everything there, but most of my experiences have been positive. :)

A cyber-taste of these snacks would be so wonderful right now.

Yep, a hamburger for breakfast. And it was good! I actually prefer burger meat over traditional breakfast sides (ham, bacon, pork sausage). ::yes::

Obviously, I don't force myself to eat healthy on vacation, but some of my 'health-conscious' habits from daily life are hard to break.

I had to laugh, the second picture looked like what mine would have looked like when I was done if I ordered the same. Although, I wouldn't have asked for no egg when I ordered.

I wish more places would offer regular food instead of just the breakfast standards. I have learned to dislike eggs, don't care for Disney bacon or sausage. That leaves you with pancakes, pastries, waffles and bagels. The thought of starting my day with such a high calorie, carb bomb doesn't work for me. What I end up doing is getting soup or vegetables from the night service if we make it back before closing and reheat it in the microwave the next morning. My DD loved this and would get a chicken quesadilla and reheat that over a couple days for breakfast. I can't be the only one who would like something different. Good to see one quick serve that has at least one other option.

Also, do you drive from park to park. I can't figure out how you could possibly ride the bus and get so much accomplished in such a short time.

I totally get what you mean about the "carb bomb" breakfast. Carbs (especially sugar) can be great for a small energy boost, but they often lead to a crash (which isn't the best way to start the day ). AoA definitely offered some unique options with plenty of protein, which I appreciate. :thumbsup2

I love me some fresh cilantro! YUM. I used to think I hated it or it would be horrible then I had friend who made homemade salsa with loads of cilantro and man is that some good stuff. On another note, I think I would have to order that strawberry cupcake if I were to get another cupcake down there. That one looks divine!

Yum, that strawberry cupcake looks so good! Wish I could try one right now. And that French toast one sounds interesting as well. I wish we had a good cupcake bakery in western new york!

Too funny both you and Brenda posted about the same cupcake today!!

It looks good!

I will possibly try some of the babycakes items at the 3D event!

Can't wait to read more!

P.S. I also love Cilantro! It really makes for great salsa, guacamole, and tacos!

Homemade salsa with lots of cilantro - sounds delicious! :goodvibes

Aw, it's sad that they don't have a great cupcake bakery in that area. NYC is saturated with them, and they've even spread out to the suburbs. I guess that means the cupcakes are extra special when you're in WDW. :)

Yeah I know! If only that timing had been planned.

Cilantro is so good - I could honestly just eat it raw and be happy. :thumbsup2

I knew someone would say that eventually. ;) Cilantro is such a divisive food, so I feel very fortunate that I happen to love it. :goodvibes

Oh no I'm predictable! I really wish I liked cilantro. In Philly's China town there is a place that has the best soup dumplings and noodles but the broth they use for both has cilantro in it and it really throws me off. At least Sang Kee in Reading market and Cherry Hill have a version with no cilantro. You are lucky!

Don't worry, it's not you who's predictable. But cilantro seems to be something that people either love or hate (with the "soapy" taste being a common reason why people dislike it). I wonder why that is...

I really like Sang Kee! Haven't been there recently, the food there is solid. :thumbsup2

So, the Great Cilantro Debate got me to googling and there is an entire website devoted to the hatred of cilantro. :rotfl2: Apparently people are very passionate on the subject.

I'm in the "it's ok" camp...I don't loathe it but I don't go out of my way to eat it. :)

Well, at least you can tolerate it. ;) Since it's so common in a variety of cuisines, I don't think I'd enjoy ethnic cuisines nearly as much if I couldn't stand cilantro.

Hi there! So it looks like we have similar tastes! Nooooo I'm not talking about the heads on prawns but the strawberry cupcake at Boardwalk Bakery!! I didn't get around to eating mine until days later but it was still good. I'm admiring your babycakes french toastie cupcake. I can imagine the crunch of the sugar spinkles on top.

If you like Sang Kee you have to try Dim Sum Gardens. It a little hole in the wall across from the Reading Terminal Market but their food is some of the best in Philadelphia (even if they use too much cilantro).

For once I don't have to say "that looks great! I'd like to try it sometime!" as you will see the strawberry cupcake coming up in my review as well!

I too have been reading a lot more positive reviews of Babycakes which is a great thing. For some reason I haven't been into tons of frosting or overly sweet cupcakes lately (although you wouldn't need to twist my arm to have one!) so I think I'd really enjoy that Franch Toastie one!

Also, I have to edit to say that I love cilantro. I hated it at first but the more I have it, the more I like it!

Yes, that strawberry cupcake was a really good choice! Glad we both ended up liking it. The french toastie cupcake was also wonderful. :thumbsup2

That place sounds really good! I need to make the trip over to Reading Terminal Market more often - it's got some really great food options. :)

Oh boy - I can't wait to see what you thought of that strawberry cupcake. And it sounds like Babycakes might make it onto your 'eventually' list - if that's the case, I hope you have a good experience there! :goodvibes
