Prawn Heads & Cupcakes & Soups, Oh My! 10/5 Complete (now with my Dining Wish List)!

Ha! I was right...at least with your choices. :thumbsup2 As for your mom, though my guesses were completely wrong, her choices both looked great to me. They would have been my choices, if I didn't love AP's soup and salmon so much. ;)

Mmmm, this looks so good. Even better when I have to suffer through another hour conference call before lunch. This kettle corn is not the same as the deliciousness of your pictures.

Wow Artist Point looks amazing! Even your app w/ the cherries looks delicious & that would be a very unusual dish to me, since I'm not a huge meat fan. But it really looks good. I could see getting this & my DH eating the meat & me, everything else on the plate. :) Everything from the bread to seafood @ AP looks fantastic!

Yep, you were basically inside my head once you saw that menu! :thumbsup2 And to be fair, my mom has had the cheese plate and salmon at AP before - she enjoyed both very much.

Next time, my choices at AP will probably be classics - perhaps the mushroom soup, then the salmon, and then the berry cobbler...or I might go in the opposite direction and order the filet with red currant gastrique, lobster mushroom ragout, and a truffle & hazelnut crunch donut. Never before has a steak dish sounded so interesting to me!

So sorry about that. :( On the bright side, in a few short weeks, you'll be the one reviewing AP while I'm stuck in classes and meetings. :lmao:

Agreed - it was an incredible meal!

I just love the type of food that AP serves, and I think the menu strikes a great balance between seafood (salmon, scallops, halibut, mussels, prawn and crab hot pot) and land-based options (beef, buffalo, chicken, pork, venison, and vegetarian dishes). Overall, the menu is really diverse and interesting, and I always feel happy when I'm savoring the food there. :cloud9:

I already can't wait to hear your thoughts. :thumbsup2

40 days if my math is correct and I will get to have my time at AP!!

Another wonderful review! I am going to have a hard time making my selection here!!

So happy to be reading your AP reviews...since I'll be eating there a week from today! That halibut looks and sounds amazing - I think I may have to give it a try if it's still there. And as much as I love and adore the mushroom soup, that carpaccio has me second-guessing myself.

Yay! Even though I know that the menu is seasonal and so half the choices will be different by next spring, I would order the crab cake app and the halibut entree in a heartbeat. Beautiful photos and great descriptions of the dishes.

I hope your experience at AP is as good as ours was! Obviously I can't speak for any of the current meat entrees, but that filet mignon sounds quite fascinating. :thumbsup2

Whichever way you go (traditional or newer dishes), I hope you really enjoy it! :goodvibes

I would highly recommend both the crab fritters and halibut dish. And while it's unlikely that both will remain on the menu by next spring, who knows what'll happen? Just look at the hot pot - it was new last summer, and it's been on the menu for over a year now.

Even when a dish doesn't appeal to me, due to one (or more) of its components, you always manage to make it sound appetising. And, for the most part, thanks to your photography skills (and, I suppose, the skills of the Disney chefs) the dishes look delicious too.

I've got to admit, though, in my naivety, that I don't understand for the life of me what difference that miniscule piece of pork belly would have made to the dish :confused3

As always, I look forward to dessert :)

I sure wish I liked fish/seafood because the descriptions of your dishes sound wonderful and the photos are beautiful! Every time I read one of your AP reviews I want to eat there immediately but then I remember that I'm not a very adventurous eater. :rotfl2: But I'm definitely going to recommend AP to my supervisor along with Jiko!

Tracey, we definitely need to go to dinner sometime since I am not a very adventurous eater either. All these DIS foodies often make me feel very inferior with my simple tastes ;)

What an amazing meal at AP! You had me at chile aioli. :worship: I'm glad you enjoyed the halibut. I admire your willingness to try new preparations of ingredients you're not fond of! It looks delicious. What I'm REALLY wowed by is that hot pot. The flavor profile sounds right up my alley! Remove the pork and I'd be all over that, prawn heads and all. The description reminds me of the wonderful Malaysian seafood curry at Yak & Yeti!

I can't wait to see the desserts! Is there cobbler?!

Shouldn't you be busy eating cupcakes or ice-cream or something ;) Hope you're having a great time :)

Haha! I wish Joh, we're all done with that fun now, we came home this afternoon. Our trip was only two nights!

I love that hotpot. I was going to guess the hotpot and the venison carpaccio. I guess it is weird for most people to actually suck the prawn head although, culturally for me, it isn't. XD

Maybe you should change your name to Donald Prawnheads! My mother and I had Izzi as our server a few years ago and we thought he was fantastic!

And what a lovely prawnhead that was!! :lmao: If you remove the mussels, crispy pork, and the head from the prawn and I'd dig in!!

Cherries must be the seasonal fruit that they are incorporating into their menu as it was in several dishes. They were very nicely done.

I predict a cobbler will be on the table for dessert with a nice orange blossom lace cannoli! But what do I know! :p
