Hi there,
I've recently linked our park tickets to MDE and trying to get my head around booking FP+ for when our 30 day window opens in a couple of weeks. I would really like to do a dummy run of booking some FP+ times and then cancelling them so I can get my head around how it all works and also how you can change the times of the attractions that you have chosen rather than just using the allocated times. Can anyone tell me if this is possible? I'm worried that if I book fast passes now it will somehow activate our tickets that are only valid for 14 days even though I plan on cancelling them straight the way and then our tickets won't work when we actually need to use them!

Booking FP doesn't activate your tickets; your 14 day time frame for using the tickets starts the first time you enter a park.

Ok thank you! So I should be fine to trial book some FP+ now for 30 days time and then cancel them and our tickets will all still be fine for our trip in April then??

I just booked FP+ for my first time ever a few weeks ago. Before I got to my window, I was very anxious and worried about not knowing how to book, etc. But honestly, after doing it, it really was SOOOO easy. Even changing the ride/time is super easy. The booking FP+ experience was great and I can see why others say no need to worry!

I practiced before booking our FP+ for the first time and it was helpful. My instinct when making changes was to hit cancel and you do not want to do that, always MODIFY. Also, when making changes for part of our group I kept changing the wrong people, I have to pay attention when choosing who to check/not check when changing part of the group. It is the opposite of what I always start to do.

Thanks for asking this question because I was wondering the same thing. It would be nice to understand how the FP+ system works before having to actually make the reservations.

Yes, as long as you have a valid ticket on file in your MDE account, you may go in and make FP+ reservations within the current 30 day window.

As long as you have active tickets that are not part of a resort-ticket Package linked to your MDE account, you'll be able to practice as much as you like. Just cancel all FPs after each practice session.
