I have the PPH booked but am contemplating DLH. I have a two year old who is only familiar with Frozen and Ariel. He is newly afraid of water and won't be going in the pool. We will be gunning back to the hotel when meltdowns begin because he's not napping anymore. I've been told the rooms at PPH are slightly bigger, though I'm unsure as to the veracity of that. We could use the room as he has oodles of energy. Based on this info, would one hotel over the other meet our needs better? The PPH is a closer walk from the parks than the DLH? Thank you :)

As for the walk to the parks, they're pretty close to the same. In fact, PPH is closer to the Grand Cali entrance into DCA.

I've never been to DLH (not until Feb), but the PPH was a nice place. I can say I've been spoiled at WDW with all of their awesome resorts, so nothing at DL is going to compare. But PPH had a good character breakfast a little bit of a Disney feel. For future reference, the water slide is really good.

The big difference is the price. With a good discount, you can get into PPH at around $215/night. DLH will run you around $300/night with the same 20% discount. And that's if you can find it for when you're going. IF.

The rooms at the PPH are slightly larger. Slightly. I'm not sure if it's enough to make a difference with one kid.

For going to DL, the distance is about the same from each hotel. The PPH is a little closer for DCA if you use the entrance from the Grand.

For kids, I really like the DLH more, especially if you're spending time at the pool. One of the DLH pools is zero entry in the waterslide area. And there are waterfalls there that I think a two year-old would like. And they sometimes have mini-parties where the kids can dance. More Disney theming overall throughout the hotel. When we went, I knew ahead of time that this was the case, but we stayed at the DLH first and when we stayed at the PPH the lack of theming still disappointed me even though I knew about it ahead of time. The hotel is pretty bland. And you can't use the DLH pool if you're staying at the PPH.

OTOH, you can get a room with a great view at the PPH for the same price you would pay at the DLH for no view, or you can just save $75-$100 a night for a non-view room.

My kids and I much prefer the DLH but I know there are others who don't. Just depends what you like.
