Powerchair or Ecv

Now we have the room issue sorted next one is which do people think will work best for hiring .I will have my own manual chair with me but It will be to much to self propel all day do not want to risk my powerchair on flights

Are ECv allowed in the shows and restuarnts or will iI be better of hiring a powerchair for while we are staying at disney .I can self transfer but can not walk or stand at all

I've had a powerchair since'97 and like you I'm fearful to take it on plane. I also use an ecv. For years I've rented ECVs then I took my own ecv (which is great in the airport. I gate check it) but long time use of an ecv tires me. Last few trips I rented a powerchair. I am much more relaxed. Extending my arms for a ecv took a lot out of me. The powerchair supports me much better. It is a bit more expensive but worth it to me. As you are used to a powerchair I would say rent one. ECVs and pcs are allowed in the shows and restaurants. I do not transfer from my pc in restaurants

If you can rent a power wheelchair, I would go with that for the reasons that Piper mentioned plus a couple more.

Power wheelchairs usually will turn much sharper than ECVs do, so you will be able to get into smaller spaces.
With a few exceptions, all lines are wheelchair accessible. There are some that are wheelchair accessible, but not ECV accessible. Most of those are ones I don’t imagine you will be going on with your group because of the age of your children and the difficulty of transferring, but it’s nice to know that you could go in.

Thank you . will look into powerchair hire for the holiday .Will still need my lightweight mnaul anyway and am getting better at chucking it around .Still not as good a my son is in his though
