I read somewhere that non Florida residents can purchase the cheaper power annual pass at the gate. It just isn't available online. Does anybody know if this is true? I know it has some black outs and does not get discounts.

That's what several posters have said but I can not confirm if it's true...maybe someone else can?

We're going to check that out on June 7. If you can wait til then, we'll let you know.

I'm a Florida resident, and I have the cheapie-power pass. It was $140 and it gets you in for one year, with some blackout dates. These are not the entire summer, like Disney's though, they are only a few key weekends (mostly holidays/spring break). There was a deal during their Mardi Gras celebration where you could get the power pass for $115 -- but we opted not to do this as we wanted to go during a blackout weekend, so had to buy a day-ticket, then upgrade. Hope that helped! :hippie:

Only Florida resident can get the Power pass.

There have been a few people on the boards recently who said they were able to purchase the Power Pass at the gates even though they weren't Florida residents. Did you try and were denied?

I have not tried to get the power pass, but I read that you could get it even if you were not a resident, but it is not advertised.

My other question is, can you upgrade to a power pass or any other pass, if you have already purchased a ticket?

Yes you can.

I have a power pass and I want to get the 10% discount on multi tickets so my sister can get in. Do I have to purchase these tickets at the front gate or do I have to call them or can I do the purchasing and get the discount online? We are both Florida Residents.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You only get discounts if you have the preferred pass.

Actually it states on universal website that I do get discounts on multi day tickets but I don't get dining or shopping. At least that's what it said when I logged in.

I will double check and make sure. Yes I do according to the site. Again any help would be greatly appreciated

You have to purchase AP discounted tickets at the gate and it doesn't matter who you give them to. It's only restricted when you're using a FL resident discount...not an AP discount.

I didn't know that! I learn so much on the site!
