In light of the new restrictions on surge protectors and power cords, does anyone know just how many outlets there are in the cabins for charging our electronics?

Do I remember two on the desk? Is there one under the nightstand ledge or is that just on the Dream/Fantasy? The ones in the bathroom are too high to use for electronics and may be powered just for electric razors, if I am remembering correctly.

Anyone know for sure or is there anyone sailing on the Wonder soon that could report back your findings. :goodvibes

off topic but I love your pics!!! :yay:

I believe there was one open one behind the tv and the two on the desk

Yes, that is correct. The wave phones are plugged into an outlet on the desk. But can be unplugged. I'm thinking of unplugging the wave phone on sea days and letting them charge on port days. The TV takes one plug behind it with one open for charging.

We've been wondering this. We are on a 14 day cruise on the Wonder and have been like "wait. One of us is on a CPaP."

You are allowed to bring on an extension cord for medical purposes. However, it must be approved by an engineering CM onboard. They also have extension cords for CPaP machines at guest services for use. I believe there is a required deposit.

There are 2 outlets on the desk of all 4 ships.

There is an additional outlet behind the TV on the Magic and Wonder. I'm not sure if you could unplug the TV, but if you can that is another outlet.

Speaking of the TV on all 4 ships, this another option for charging items.

What It Does: If your television has a USB port, it's generally used so technicians can service your TV if it breaks. "Smart TVs" often have at least one USB port that let you plug in a hard drive, flash drive, or other USB storage device to view media files on your television. If you have a TV that does this, that's pretty awesome in and of itself. If you're stuck with a service port, that's really all it's supposed to be used for.
Awesome Uses: Regardless of the suggested use of your television's USB port, chances are it receives power. That means you can actually use it to charge USB devices, such as your smartphone or even a game controller. Reader Evan B. uses his USB port to power LED ambient backlighting (a splitter will give you more ports if you want to hook up more lights, but you won't get more power from it). Although not every TV's USB port(s) will provide enough power to charge every device, you should be able to charge something. If you don't have luck with one device, try another and you may be pleasantly surprised.

Also on all 4 ships is the clock by the bed which has a docking station, that will charge items.

On the Dream, Fantasy and Magic, by the clock on the nightstand is an additional plug.

Be aware that the clock docking port is the "old" style 30 pin connector.

And for 15 bucks you can grab a 30pin to lightning adapter. As far as power, don't forget... If you're bringing a laptop... that opens up more power for USB items that can be charged.:banana::banana:

Or if you live close to a harbor freight, you can get a solar "outlet" for 20 bucks to charge smaller electronics.... Just some ideas. Happy cruising!:thumbsup2

Hey, we are on the same cruise. :cool1:

Does anyone know if or how they are enforcing the new "no power strips " rule?
Also curiously, does anyone know why they made the rule in the 1st place?

I think with more and more people having things to charge (tablets, phones, laptops cameras, readers, etc), there is a drain on the electrical system of the ship. Also, surge protectors have been known to catch fire, and that is very dangerous and undesired on a ship. DCL has no way of knowing the condition of these surge protectors and rather than checking every one of them out, they just say non allowed.
