Power Outages

My power was off for 5 hours, it was so dark outside. We had candles everywhere, and had to eat the ice cream before it melted. lol. Who here has had any power outages, and how long was it out for?

The last one I think was the blackout of '03. The power was out in the summer from the afternoon to about two in the morning if I remember right. It was so hot! We ate all the ice cream too, it was actually pretty fun

In jan 2005 ohio was hit with a really bad ice storm. I lost power for 24 hours. my parents who live an hour away from me. They lost power for 7 days. guess that Y2K generator came in handy for something

I've lost power for a few days at time before. Usually just an afternoon or a few hours. once, a transformer down the street blew and we lost power for a little over a day.

I remember that big blackout. 2003 seems like so long ago though. It was funny cause the one time sooo many people lost power our little cottage still had it.

I think everyone has had their power go out at least once, eh?

yesterday we had a giant storm moving FAST across the midwest. Over 92,000 without power. THere were tornadoes, and wind up to 80 mph. It only lasted about 15 min, but earlier it was 80 degrees, and in 15 minutes it dropped to 50. wow.

Once there was a power outage for three days (actually, it was just this summer). All the food in the fridge spoiled, and we had to go to bed extremely early because there was no electricity! It was really bad, and I don't know how people possible survived without power!

Yep that's the same storm that caused my power outage.

Yeah that one stunk. I remember everyone freaking out. I rode my bike around town, and people where like, certain it was a terrorist attack.

haha, yea I remember that, cuz it went out al over New York too, and people were freaking out. I remember that was when they had that show rich girls or something with Tommy Hilfigures daughter and her best friend. And they were in the black out like freaking out.

The last time the power was out here was Wednesday, I think. The power goes out here all of the time, especially during the summer. I guess that's because we live in a desert-ish area and it gets pretty hot then everyone turns on the AC and then, occasionally, BOOM! Out goes the power. (Although there's no sound with it, lol ^_^) It's kinda fun at night, as long as I'm not the only one up.

no it wasnt. it was rich girls with Tommy Hilfigures daughter and they lived in the city with their parents. being spoiled little girls. idk if it was rich girls but it was something like that, but I know for a fact that it was Tommy Hilfigure's daughter and it was on MTV Simple life isnt on MTV.

The Blackout of '03, We were out for like 5 days, it was bad. When it got dark we had to go to bed, because there was no electricity. When the power finally came back, everybody ran inside to just be with the air conditioning. Other than that we get like some ice storms, and get a few days off of school, which hey i'm not complaining!

I hate ice storms. Even if school is called off, I can't do anything because there is ice everywhere.

Like two weeks ago tornados swept through the midwest and we went without power for three days. We stayed in a hotel and stuff which was pretty cool. Our house was freezing and we lost all the contents of our fridge and freezer. We filed a claim with the insurance.
