POTC closed for 6 months?

Even if it's not being refurbished yet be prepared for it to be down. It's down constantly now and in terrible need of a rehab. Also be prepared to get wet!

The refurb is not just about people getting wet, but the issue with riding in the back row and coming out of your seat. Those boats were designed for Disneyland, they didn't work and WDW took them. They do not work for WDW either. There is a hazard when riding in the back.

The reports ive read have said itll be back up for the holiday season, do you think that means for Halloween? Ill be at the Halloween MNSSHP then comin back nov5-9th. Halloween would be a greay time to finish it up, to be ready for the Thanksgiving crowds just a few weeks after

Considering that Disney tries to be politically correct and uses the term "holiday season" to mean "Christmas Season" (in most cases) and they call October 31st Halloween, I do not think they mean by October. If it is going down for 6 months, I would expect it to be down until December-ish.

Hmmmm, it's a shame that POTC and Liberty Tree Tavern will both be closed while we're there in September.

Even though I'm a little disappointed that it will be closed while we're there, I'm still happy it's getting a refurb. It was constantly down during our trip in October. We didn't really get soaked the few times we did get to ride it. The one park day we were with our families, my family got stuck and had to be escorted out of the ride because it was going to be down for a while. They weren't happy about that. Rides going down was the theme of that day.

Wow just hear about jungle cruise! That stinks it's one of our fav rides. We will be there the 12th through the 18th of April. But maybe I can get a fast pass for it on our arrival day

We arrive on the 12th as well, and that's just what I did. My guess is that a lot of other people are going to do this too, so the sooner the better.

Yeah we got a fast pass for it in the afternoon for when we get there. Its 1 of my kids favorite rides so not doing that ride might be the end of the world lol

According to Disney's website it is going down for referb May 11th. That is the day we fly back home so our family will be one of the "lucky" ones to experience pirates at it's worst.

Wow...I haven't been since 2010, so I've no idea it was in such a bad state!

We're there in May this year and I was considering taking my 3 year old DD on there, but after reading the posts here I don't think I'll bother due to safety! We arrive May 8th, so could make it - but the reports on here are putting me right off for sure! We'll ride again another trip!

Oh my.... My hubby's only requests when we go to Disney is POTC and HM. I am afraid to tell him it probably won't be open when we go in November. Anyone have any idea when Disney will make an official announcement? I am also bummed about LTT. I have been wanting to try it and planned on it next trip.

We ate there once, last trip, on a whim just because we mostly wanted to get a break from the pouring rain. We ended up loving it and it's now our favorite place to eat at Magic Kingdom, so now I'm also bummed to see it's going to be closed while we're there
