I'm not sure this is the right forum, but I've read about the $18/box deal at the Downtown Disney toy store for Mr. Potatoe Head and My Little Pony. Coincidentally, these are two of my son and daughter's favorite toys respectively. So, we're planning on going to DTD just for these. But, I've seen random posts that these might be available elsewhere in the parks. Is this true? If so, where, and is there anything available at DTD that's not available in the parks. I'd prefer to go to the parks and not mess with going to DTD just for the toy store. Thanks.

In the judges tent (Toon town) in the MK, thats where they have the PH....I'm not sure about the Pony though!! Have fun!

They do have the Potato Head in one of the stores in the Animal Kingdom as well. As far as I know they only have the My Little Ponies in the toy store at DTD. I know becuase I looked everywhere just to make sure becuase we were going to DTD on our last day and I didn't want to miss them. If your daughter loves ponies and princesses it's worth it to go to DTD just for the toy. I filled a box up just of accessories for my little cousin and bought her a cheap Pony at Wal-Mart when I got home and she loved it.
Have fun!

Huh can someone 'splain this? So you fill a box with my little pony things? DD would love this!

We got the My Little Pony box this past February. My DD wanted the pink pony (not sure of the name) and then filled the box with accessories. IMO, there should be more accessories. Also, some of the accessories were very big. She had a great time filling it up though :flower: . We will probably do this again when we go back in August. :cool1:

Some of the accessories that DD got were: Pink blankets, cups, saucers, mirror, hair clips, brushes, tea pot, tea cup (like the ride), mickey balloon, rain coat and hat, tutu, glasses, bed, and a popcorn cart.

Can someone give more of an explanation of the MLP thing? I've been a collector since I was seven and I've never heard of this! :earseek:

At DTD in the Disney Toy store, there is an area for MLP where you can pick one pony and a container and then fill the container with accessories for the pony for a price of $18, I think. Many of the MLP accessories are big, like a carriage and a bed. They also have touch screen computers with images of ponies at the parks.

For Mr. Potato Head, it's pretty much the same but you pick out things to accessorize MPH.

so is the consensus that I can get the potatoe head elsewhere but have to go to DTD if I want to get my daughter her My Little Pony stuff? Anyone else out there know about My Little Pony to save me a trip?

Thanks.

The only place I saw the MLP pieces was at DTD. I did see the "Princess" themed ponies in other toy shops (a MLP with a pointy hat with a princess name on it and a cape - my daughter got Minty, whose "favorite princess is Ariel"). We only put parts in the box at Once Upon a Toy in DTD. Make sure you take the time to fill the box to your maximum advantage. You can stick a lot of rain coats and rain hats in the nooks and crannies if you try. :rotfl:

we did the potato head at a main st store at the Studios....stuffed the potato with as many peices as possible then everything else around it in the box...the CM working the area said he had never seen anyone as organized!...i WASN'T GOING TO LEAVE ANYTHING BEHIND...got it all...cute disney stuff you cannot usually get...ears, mickey bars etc....the girls played with it every night!

I'm pretty sure the My Little Pony bins are *only* in the DTD "Once Upon a Toy Store" We looked everywhere when we were there in January. Mr. Potato Head is in lots of locations, but MLP was only in the one place.

My DD will love the MLPs. Are the boxes about the same size and price as MPH? We already have most of the MPH stuff from our past trips. Our kids like playing with them a lot.

I guess I should also ask what size of a pony the stuff fits. My wife probably knows if there's a standard size, but I've got no clue. Thanks.

Wow
Thanks for the info on the ponys . I never knew they had them. I knew about the Mr. PH. Is there any other toys that do this kind of thing?
:earsgirl:

This is wonderful news about My Little Pony! My DD collects them and when she hears about this she is going to go crazy :earseek:
