I think it would be neat for my 9yo and 12yo to recieve post cards from Minnie mouse and Goofie, about a week from our trip date telling them that they are looking forward to seeing the childern. Does any one know where I can order these with a personal message?

I don't think you can order postcards with a personal message.

But, I do know that if you hand any character a postcard they WILL sign it on the correct side for you. I have done this several times for 'special' children - but only mailed them as souveniers to the children directly from Disneyland and WDW. (And of course, it's very easy to obtain these autographs if you attend a character meal). :)

The only way that I can think to get these ahead of time is to have a Dis'er buddy who is going to WDW about a month or so before you go to take care of this for you. Perhaps you could return the favour sometime or offer to do it for someone else while you are there - there is very little cost out of anyone's pocket for a couple of postcards and a couple of stamps. (Makes you feel good too!) :D

I am so glad you gave the suggestion. I was thinking along that line of a family member sending a card from Florida, but I have no one who lives there. once again thank you.

I've read on these boards you can get these from Gifts of a Lifetime. Check out their web page,

I have seen these but there is not a way to get a specific card and the message you want.

Well, I have seen 2 threads this morning on people that are excited and are doing the single-digit dance (less than 10 days to go to their WDW vacation). ;)

The timing's just about right. So, if you feel comfortable about it - and only if you do . . . . ;) :D

I just got two post cards orders from giftsofalifetime and sent them to my 5 yr old and husband. My daughter got a postcard from tinkerbell and it was wrote in green and my husband received one from mickey.. It was too kool. My daughter thought it was the neatest thing. It is a great thing to do to get ready for your upcoming trip....:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I also ordered a Mickey postcard from Gifts of a lifetime for my DS. He was so excited when he received it. There is a place when you are ordering that you can type in special requests/comments. I put in that we will be celebrating my DS's 5th B-day during our upcoming trip. The postcard from Mickey said that he was looking forward to seeing my DS and helping him celebrate his birhtday.

I ordered a Mickey Mouse postcard from GOL for my 5 year old daughter, and it arrived today. It was addressed to her and had a message from Mickey saying he would see her soon then his autograph at the bottom. Like a previous poster wrote there are a few other characters that the postcard can be from. I think it is well worth it.

I have found GiftsOfALifetime.com very helpful. I e-mailed a special request and they e-mailed back saying they would be able to accomodate me. Very friendly, very helpful.

About 10 years ago my dd sent Mickey a christmas card after we had visited DL. I can't remember what she wrote, but I do remember she recieved a postcard back with a Christmas theme, thanking her for her card and hoping she could visit again soon. It was signed by Mickey and Minnie.
She loved it!
I wonder if a letter was written to specific characters (mentioning how exciting the upcoming trip was) if you would get a reply?

Several years ago "Peter Pan" wrote to my kids inviting them to join the Family Magic Tour and help get him out of a jam by finding Captain Hook's hook. I have very bright school aged kids but kids aren't likely to realize that the cancellation stamp on a letter comes from the city it was mailed in, not the city it's delivered in. A letter or postcard mailed from your own town with "Disney World" as the return address will still look like a letter from Mickey when it arrives at your home addressed to your child.;)

for a SAHM or dad that live near Orlando. It could probably be done for less than $3.50 and you would still make a profit.

last time I went to WDW some kind person sent a postcard to my dd, and then I sent a couple to other kids while we were there.

We didn't actually get Mickey to sign them, although that would have been a great idea, we just signed them ourselves from Mickey (but they were for quite young kids);

maybe we could start a thread of volunteers?

I think this is a great idea - and would be willing to participate? How to organize...hmmm....
Maybe we can have a central post where people can write in to with what they'd need and others can respond...Not very organized...How can we make this happen?????

Maybe we could set up a 'sticky' post like they do with the illumnations cruises?
Anybody out there willing to participate?
I am not going til Oct, but could do it then. Does Disney have their own post office?

I'd like to participate:Pinkbounc
Disney has mail boxes on property but they aren't US Postal Service boxes. The mail is postmarked in town. I think its Lake Buena Vista but I'm not sure.

to see if there is any interest?

Anyone who is interested in this postcard exchange, please list:

1) when you need postcards sent
2) when you are available to send postcards
