I know this topic has been discussed several times before but I can't seem to find the exact answer I'm looking for. My question is, has anyone received the 15 number PIN code for select Value resorts from $59 per night? Has anyone been able to get the discount AND free dining? We were initially told by a CM that we could use them together but later told no. If anyone has been able to get both the discount room rate and free dining, exactly how did you do this? We booked two adjoining rooms together. Would the discount apply to both rooms or just one?

Here is what happened:

About 4-5 months ago, we booked our hotel ressies at the Pop Century for Sep 12-Sep 22, 2007 and later got the free dining plan with it. We booked two adjoining rooms. We booked it through one of those Disney exclusive travel agents. We kind of regret this now as we have mastered the whole Disney reservation making thing. We've made all of our own dining reservations, bibbidi bobbidi boutique reservations and Mickey's not so scary Halloween party tickets ourselves. However, everything that we do related to our room must be done through our travel agent. This includes asking for specific requests, or buildings or whatever. We also are unable to look up our hotel ressies online. What's worse is our agent doesn't usually get back to us until days later after we leave several voicemails and emails.

Yesterday we received a postcard in the mail for select Disney Value Resorts from $59 per night. It gave a PIN which was 15 numbers long. Before reading the fine print, my wife called the number and asked if we could use it with the free dining plan and they said absolutely! Unfortunately we could not change the ressie ourselves because we booked through a Disney travel agent. The CM asked us to go through our travel agent to do it. Our travel agent emailed us back and said she didn't think it was possible but she'd get back to us. She hasn't gotten back to us as of yet.

So, my wife called Disney reservations back. Our plan was to book the trip ourselves using the code and get the dining plan and then cancel our ressies that we made with our travel agent. This time however, the CM we spoke with said we could NOT use the discount room code with the dining plan. I called the back again today and asked them and they again said we could not use the code and the free dining plan. I asked her what the first CM may have been looking at which would have allowed us to use both and she said she didn’t know. I asked her if there was any other room discount code we could use with the free dining plan and she said no.

My question is, has anyone experienced this before with the 15 number PIN code for select Value resorts from $59 per night. Has anyone been able to get the discount AND free dining? If so, exactly how did you do this? We booked two adjoining rooms together. Would the discount apply to both rooms or just one?

The first CM was wrong - may have thought you asked if you could use the code discount and get the DDP. - missed the "free" part.

You have never been able to stack discounts - it is one or the other - always has been that way

You can on apply one discount to a reservation. Such as if you booked w/AAA for free dining you would have paid rack rate for the room not the AAA discount price. Castmembers give incorrect info all the time. If you had tried to book it then the computer system wouldn't have let it. You would have been charged for the dining. The only thing you could do is book one room with free dining & one room with the discount code as a room only reservation. How many are traveling with you? If you only have four people you could possibly do this. I don't think you would be guaranteed connecting rooms. You need to crunch numbers and see how much you will save.

What is suggested above will not work - you cannot list the same people on 2 rooms. Disney will cancel one or the other -

Not to be sarcastic, but this made me laugh. Let's say a family of four (with two teenagers) gets a room for $59.00/night, then is allowed to get the dining plan for free. Their first day they go to the Pepper Market and use a CS for lunch. You can get a soda, steak, and dessert there and the total would be $28.37/person ($113.48), they then go to Le Cellier that night and spend $62.58/person ($250.32), then that night at their resort they go to the food court and use a snack credit to get hot caramel sundaes for 3.99+tax or $4.25/person (17.00). So for $59.00 they get a room plus $380.80 worth of food for that day. Do that for eight days and the cost would be $472.00 for which they would get a room plus $3040.00 worth of food. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: No offense to the OP, but I don't think so.

Discounts can not be stacked. The DDP is part of a pkg that includes paying rack rate for the room plus buying at least a one day MYW ticket. DVC owners are not even eligible for free dining and AP holders must pay rack rate and buy a one day MYW ticket in order to get it.

FYI: the prices I used above are from my May trip where I had the DDP.
