Postcard Rate, What Rate Did You Get?

Last week my husband and I received that postcard with the discount code for a deluxe resort starting at $119 a night. I am interested in knowing what rate everyone got and at what resort.

I have reservations at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, $119 a night ($132 with tax) for September 27-Oct. 2.

I was also quoted $154 for a courtyard view at the Wilderness Lodge. Not sure if that was with or without tax.

Zero rooms were available at the Contemporary for my dates.

i got the same rate you did ($119 deluxe) it is my first postcard i recently joined the disney club so i believe that's why i got a postcard.

There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason as to who gets or doesn't get a post card from WDW. There have been many discussions and guesses on these boards as to why someone does or does not get a card. Just look at it as a sign that you should go and take advantage of the great rate!!

I think I got the same postcard about 2 weeks ago...although mine was specifically for the AKL or WL with those same rates. I didn't ask if it was for any other resorts or not - we have been wanting to try the AKL, so thought this would be good.

It was my first postcard also...I wondered if it was because I just stayed at the WL in May and received a survey in the mail after our stay which I filled out online.

I was excited to get the postcard, although I am not sure if we will be able to go or not. At any rate, it sure was fun getting it! YIPPEE!!!

My postcard says AKL and WL (it doesn't use the word ONLY) but the rate is also good at other resorts too, so I was told by the CM on the phone. She just said the Contemporary wasn't available for my dates is all.

Disneylvr, what were some of the other resort rates you were quoted? Just curious...

Did your postcard have an expiration date? I didn't find one on mine, so I assume we can keep booking until there is no availability...???

No expiration date on my postcard. They didn't give me a rate for the other resorts because at the time I was interested in AKL, WL or the Contemporary. But she (the CM) did say that other resorts were available at at discount. Maybe not for $119, but still at a discount. That is why I started this thread because I was interested in what others got at this postcard rate. Someone mentioned getting the Polynesian at $194 including tax on another thread that mentioned the postcard rate. I truly wanted WL or the Contemp but Wilderness Lodge only had courtyard view rooms ($154) and Contemporary had no availability for my dates, probably due to the SoG guests. My Dreams Unlimted agent got me the $132(tax included) at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The way the wording was on my postcard, I wouldn't have really thought to ask about the other resorts, but it never hurts to ask. Since DH and I wanted to try AKL, I only checked on that. Still not sure if we are going, but $119 is awfully tempting...

Did you request a specific area for your standard view room? I have never stayed there and haven't done my homework. If we get that far, I just wondered where the 'good' rooms are with a standard view..

I just talked to "Andrew" at Central Reservations and apparently the code plus pin number is good at:
Fort Wilderness
Wilderness Lodge
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Polynesian
Yacht and Beach Club
Grand Floridian
Contemporary
even though the postcard does not state this. Remember though that the prices START at $119 night. The higher end deluxes are more expensice.

However most of those resorts, except the AKL, are sold out for my dates so he couldn't check the price. The WL and AKL DO start out at $119 for a standard view. Although I was hoping for the Contemporary, I think we will like the AKL but like you we aren't sure what to request for room location.

Hi all-

We got the postcard for $119 + tax at AKL and WL as well. I actually got it sent to my old address (mom and dad) and my current address (past 6 years.) Too bad it only goes until the 2nd of October though. We are going the 2nd-10th of November. Hope to see some codes for then. We have been getting postcards several times a year for the past few years!

I received a postcard that only says AKL for $129 plus tax per night. The travel dates are from 6/23 - 8/24. I called last week and was able to get the YC and 1 night at BC for $189 plus tax for 8/20 - 8/28.

This is the third postcard I have received so far. I don't belong to the DC and I have stayed onsite twice so far.

I know if you start a vacation with a rate you maybe able to have it your entire stay. Besides what can it hurt, the worst thing they can tell you is No the price goes up October 3rd.

Thanks for the reply Dave. We are going a month later in November though The card rate ends October 2nd. Hopefully new rates will be out soon though. We do have AP's.
