26 people have viewed this but nobody out of those 26 people have helped me :(:sad2:

I just clicked on here today and I don't know the answer to your question. I know there is a link somewhere on here with the rules to the contest, but I don't know if you have to be 18. You might want to go to search for and check for yourself? or read some more of the information in the other threads because I think someone has put the rules in there too. Sorry I couldn't help, but I didn't want to ignore you either!princess:

Eviie,

Hey there VMKer! OK. put your information onto an index card, put said card into an envelope, and write P.O. Box 8629, Elmhurst, IL 60126 on the outside. Put a return address on the envelope. Put a stamp on it, and put it into the trusty hands of the US Postal Service! Do this every day, for every member of your family. Mail a batch a day.

I've done this since 9/18/06. Not quite every day, as I do have a life, and do run out of stamps! We have won seven pairs of ears and at least one lanyard set, maybe two. All members of our family have won at least once. Good luck!

Dara

Wow!

That is dedication!

I just clued into the postcard contest. Don't know where I've been.. We have only sent out about a week's worth for the 5 of us. How long did it take to win the first item? Just curious.

Oh and is it dedication? or, is it Disneyinsanity? LOL

Cut from the rules:
Also, starting on September 18, 2006, eligible participants can enter without being present in a Disney Property by writing their full name, complete mailing address (including postal code), daytime telephone number (including area code), and date of birth on a 3.5"x5" postcard and sending it with proper postage affixed to: (i) if a legal resident of the United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada or Mexico: P.O. Box 8629, Elmhurst, IL 60126; or (ii) if a legal resident of the United Kingdom: Disney Dream Giveaway, 483 Green Lanes, London N13 4BS. Participants may enter once per day during the Giveaway Period. All mail-in entries must be mailed separately, postmarked by December 31, 2007 and received by January 14, 2008 or they will be void.

But you said your sending in an Index Card (standard 3x5) inside an envelope and winning?

Snails confuse me - I sent in a bunch exactly as requested - had to cut the post cards to the right size, and zilch. Others on another board dedicating to sweeping said they had their post cards returned saying the address was incomplete. It is an odd address since there is no to other then a PO Box. I am now tempted to try it your way using an envelope...
-again, did you use paper or card and what size?

Thanks,
Ishy

I bought some 3x5 index cards, but have been hesitant in sending them in, as it has both my address & DOB on it. My concern is identity theft. I do like the idea of putting the card in an envelope and mailing it that way. This way your DOB is not available for everyone to see.

Yes, I am worried about identity theft too. However, I am too cheap to pay to send an envelope instead of a postcard (doing it every day adds up!) so I just put all the numbers in my DOB together with no dashes or slashes in the hopes that it will appear to be a meaningless string of numbers to all the big bad identity thieves... :)

Yup, I know what the rules say, but I am not sending that information out in the open for God and country to see. I figured if I don't win anything because of it, c'est la vie. But, we've won, eight times I think. Maybe it will disqualify me as a big winner. I don't know. But from what I've read on this forum, people are winning by mail all kinds of ways. I use #10 envelopes, white, no decorations. My index cards have no decorations. Most of them are white, but I had a package of blue sitting around and used those. I hand-write the index card but use pre-printed return labels, and labels for the address.

I hope this all helps someone! Good luck to us all!

Just a quick question..are you mailing more than one card in the envelope or one for every member of the family. If they take that it would save me bunch;)

Nope, each card goes in its very own envelope. The Post Office and I are on a first name basis. When I go in to buy stamps, I get drilled about what I've won recently!

I also mix up which post office or mailbox I use, just to keep it interesting!

Just confirming - no minimum age requirement to enter through the postcards/mail?

Okay i have one VERY important question who do i send it under? Like what name? Disney? Idk i'm lost...

Okay you guys know that you put your name on the envelope then you put your adress and all that then in the middle of the envelope you put the person your sending the letter to's name so what do i put for the name i know i have to put the PO box number and all but what name do i put it iunder?
