Hi, I bought a stack of postcards from the post office. Will postcard rates go up on Monday when first class rates go up? If they do I will have to buy stamps to add to my cards. So much for planning ahead. :sad1:

At least you knew the price was going up, I had no idea:confused3 . LOL I need to read some "real" news once in a while.

Yes the price of first class stamps does indeed increase on Monday May 14th to .41 cents, and yes as far as I know ( i am a mail carrier) we were told post cards will increase from .23 cents to .24 cents.

I just checked the USPS site and it says postcards are going up to 26 cents. Darnit!

Postcards are currently 24 cents - I still have a stack of the pre-stamped cards, too - so you'll need to add a 2-cent stamp to each card beginning next week.

Good thing I read this. I had no idea postage was already going up. I hate when I have leftover stamps and have to go buy those 2 cent stamps to add on. :headache:

is the forever stamp available yet??

I think it is!! When I bought my postcards about 3 weeks ago, they had signs up for them. I should have bought them instead of the 39 cent stamps I bought. Gotta finish sending my last postcards before Monday.... and then buy more :rotfl2:

 Glad I read this. We leave on Saturday. I better run and buy my 2cent stamps.

This is why my wedding invitations are going in the mail today ;)

And why I'm not futzing with postcard stamps until right before we leave!

I do find it strange that I've heard almost no "buzz" about this this time... normally it's a fairly common topic of discussion. Or maybe I'm just living deeper under my rock than I used to. :)

Teh Forever Stamps are actually already being sold at .41. I was mailing Graduation announcements yesterday and overheard the Postmaster fielding complaints about it being .41 cents when mail was still .39
