Post Your Wedding Cake

I love these boards and they have helped me soooo much in planning my wedding at Sea Breeze Point, June 12, 2008. You have all helped me find a photographer ( Randy Chapman) someone to officiate our wedding ( Rev. Jack Day) and you all have soo many ideas and amazing photos I have become even more wedding obsessed and I am sure my fiancee didn't think that was possible.

I saw the mad hatter cake on a smaller scale and was wondering how much you paid for it if you don't mind me asking. I also wanted to know how much the Whimsy cake was if someone doesn't mind looking for me. We are having an Escape wedding with the regular cake, but for our "rehersal" dinner at O'hana's the night before, I would love a cake, a cute festive one for us after dinner. There are only going to be 10 of us and I would like the cakes scaled down to the 2 smallest layers.

Thanks so much for the help, I promise to properly introduce myself and not be a "lurker" anymore. I guess I need to just jump in and join the chat, lol. \

Everyone, thanks for all the help, even though you didn't know you gave it to me, ,lol !!!!

I used Randy & Rev Day and we were married at Sea Breeze! You will be very pleased with your choices. We are headed down to Florida in a few weeks and Randy will be doing our family portraits, I can't wait! My mad hatter was just under $1000, I had the 3 tier. Keep in mind we were married in May of 06 so prices may be different now.

Jump right in & feel free to ask more questions. Good luck with planning!

You can't totally tell from this picture, but we had sugar crystals all around the cake. It simply sparkled at the reception. I loved it. Also, apparently because of the sugar crystals, they were able to serve the cake with the fondant on it. It was really nice because the crystals gave a little crunch to it.

I am so glad you posted the picture and pointed out the sugar crystals. I LOVE how that looks! Oh, and your tag is one of my favorite movie lines ever! Isn't that just the best movie!? :goodvibes

My Mad Hatter cake served (they said 45 ppl) and was $250. BUT the pieces were small - I had about 20 ppl at the Mad Hatter Tea and they just put one slice of each on everyones plate. YUMMY!

Thanks DisneySweetie for starting this thread! We might be getting married at WDW (summer 2010) so I really enjoyed looking at the cake pictures!
:tink:

Thanks everyone for posting - the cakes all look wonderful and sound delicious! I'm just subbing and hope to have something to add soon. We get our contract next week so now the real planning should begin I guess :cloud9:!

That is a cake!?!?!?! It looks sooooo real!

These are fantastic - thank you to everyone who has posted pictures.

Can anyone tell me how many people (realistically) the cake that comes with the Escape package would feed?

Thanks.

DFTW may say that, but most brides report it could easily have fed 35 or 40 :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. We are like a couple of locusts on grain when we get hold of cake so people might not get a look-in!

Thanks to everyone who has showed their cakes! They are all so beautiful. I am having a Disney cake here in Missouri so now I have something to take to my baker!

Technically, the Escape/Intimate cake is for 50 people. I would say, having had one that 35-40 could easily eat from it and have nice-sized pieces. We had 13 people and several people had two pieces. We had almost the entire bottom layer left and munched on it in the room afterwards, but could no-way finish it. The pieces are very tall too, so even a thin slice is a lot of cake !

I wasn't married at Disney but I wanted to share my cake, just because I LOVED it and it was unique, and one of my very favorite things!!
