Post Your Wedding Cake

Right now there are no choices for Escape weddings, just a standard cake that may vary slightly (like swags vs. ripples) depending on which bakery makes it. You can pay to upgrade it to a design you specify, but there are no set upgraded Escape cakes - people usually just submit a picture or say they want it with the Mickey Wave style or whatever. Then the WP tells you how much more it will cost.

A few weeks ago someone posted that DFTW is considering offering Escape brides a choice of cake style, but nothing has been decided yet.

All escape wc tell us the same thing... it's in the works and will be decided on soon, but as of now... nothing. My WC told me to wait until I absolutely have to decide to see if anything has come together. The cake is not the most important part of my day, so I've decided to wait till the last minute to see what cakes become available.

Here is my cake:

It was the destination castle cake. We added fresh floral, pearl trim and a mongram.

the flavors were:
Anniversary- Almond cake with Bailey's mousse
2nd layer- chocolate cake with rasberry mousse and fress rasberries
bottom- almond cake with amaretto mousse and fresh strawberries (almost everyone's favorite)

How much did this cost?

If you pay the price can you have a 2 layer version of the Wishes designs, or is it a no no regardless of whether you're happy to pay?

You can ask for almost anything. They will have the pastry chef price it for you. I found one really liked online and LOVED it. It only priced out to $450 more than the "included", but we decided not to go with it since we would have way too much cake already. So yes, they can do almost anything...for a price. Just ask your WP.

I love the contrast on this version. Very cool and very unique!

This has gotta be the best wedding cake i ve ever seen:thumbsup2 . I love the fact its so unique, plus i totally love both Nightmare Before Christmas & Corpse Bride. WOW :cutie:

Id love something like this but bet it would cost a fortune for Disney to do something similar

Thank you guys so much!! We saw it and totally fell inlove!! Thankfully, it's the one we've chosen for our reception at home, so I won't have to have a heart attack when I see the BEO. :rotfl: Plus my mom is a great cake decorator and fondant is relatively easy to work with (thankfully) and she's going to make it for us! I'm ecstatic that we can get it for the cost of the cake!

Damn, I've just been right through this post, looking for acake that I saw here previously, and some how I've missed it... Well, I suppose I'll look again...

This post really should be a sticky too...

Christina - are you planning on saving your castle topper? I really want to try to save mine, but I'm worried that it won't make it for the trip home - with the plane ride and all :worried:

I was thinking that too... But my mom will take it with her, hopefully it lasts in the car...

Here are pix of the new choices for Escape cakes for future reference...

I vote that this thread become a sticky :goodvibes

I was looking for it the other day and couldn't find it...and it's soooooo helpful!

I brought mine home on the plane. I put it in a box and used it as my carry-on. It is now (almost 2 years later) under a glass dome in my dining room. It still looks just as beautiful as the day we had it on our cake. :thumbsup2
