I am still excited at the money we are saving - but you know - that $322 will be spent while at Disney anyway - mostly on Disney Christmas ornaments!

I called around noon today to check on deluxes using the Fla Res Rate for 8/5-8/10 with no luck. Just checked the Disney web site and struck out there. It's amazing to me just how little is available during this time frame. Will it be more crowded than I can imagine? Has anyone been able to get a room on or around 8/5....Thanks

I think there is very little availability for the CODE, not in general. the last time I checked, everything was still available at reg price for my dates (14-21)

I called today and they had a code assigned to my name. We already booked with AAA 6 weeks ago. We would only save $6 per night per room (we have 2 rooms) at POP. 6 nights it would have saved us about $72. It would cost us to cancel with AAA.
We did have to book 1 extra night, but could not get into POP so we have to switch to All Star Sports for 1 night. We did do a sep. ressie for that night and used our code.
I had them check everywhere for avail., nothing....mods, deluxe. Only thing avail. was studio at SSR.......but we dont want the sleeper sofa for 2 teenage boys.

Call your AAA agent!!!!!!!!!! They should be able to apply the discount to your resservation so you can save that $72. There should be no penalty for doing so.

I was wondering if they open up a small amount of rooms each day and maybe they went ahead and gave it to us since it was almost the end of their day!? I don't know how or why, but I am just glad it happened!!

I don't know if it's that or if people with mulitple ressies are finally canceling and opening things up. Congrats to you!

I just got our room only at POP switched to MWY+Dining at POP for 8/20-23. It didn't save us any additional, but it is still like getting the room at the AAA rate I booked it for and then adding the package to it for no additional cost. I would've paid full price had I booked the package before the code w/ no AAA. AAA package would've cost $3 more than the now code deal and I had been on the fence for about a week on whether or not to rebook. We're happy! Now we get the free mini-golf, photopass pic, and $15 at PH!!!! Oh, and I can maybe upgrade my b-day dinner now that we are on the plan. Lobster at Narcoosee's anyone???

PS- I got a GREAT CM on my first try this morning! The last three I've talked with in booking or original room and then dining were all business. I will certainly have a Disney Day now!

I agree. I am shocked at the limited availability for our early Aug. stay. Actually limited is not a strong enough word to explain the packed resorts. Everything looks pretty booked solid. I have been checking for a couple months. It has looked grim for a while. I just couldn't figure it out. I have gone in early Aug 4x before and it has never seemed this full.
It's not like I was looking for availability at CR, Poly, AKL, WL, BC, YC.. or any of the really hot spots.. I would have loved one of them, but they were long gone. The values are gone also. I was trying to get CSR. All they had was king and many times, CSR was just not available. I snapped it up when it popped up at the AP rate.

I, too, am worried that Aug will be crazy crowded, but with the heat, I am giving us permission to not have to do EVERYTHING. I will allow us to spend time at the pool. Oops sorry to be so off topic. Congrats to all who lucked out!

I was staying concierge, gardenview at the POLY. I called to use the new code and they said they had to change our room to non concierge lagoon view. I have the DDP already, so with the help of some nice people on the budget board, I decided to use the code. We saved $879!!!

Well, after much thought and consideration, I decided to take a plunge for our trip this Aug 6-14...We have been booked for some time at POR under AAA rate and had success with room only code, bringing our 8 night stay down to $936. We are that "can't afford to stay anywhere good in Disney" family of 5 and have always wanted to scale up the resort ladder to a Deluxe one of these days. Soooo, I started hunting around with the new code and found not much affordable availability for 5 of us. Upon the suggestion of a CM, I decided to try a split stay this time around. Knowing it is going to be hot (and potentially crowded ), I figured we would benefit from enjoying more of our resort amenities this time around and not concentrate 100% on the parks (Mommy is not happy in humidity!!! ).

For a mere $200 more than our original reservations at POR for the whole trip, we are now staying the first 5 nights at POR and then finishing off our trip with 3 nights at the Boardwalk Inn. We have never even thought of trying to afford a Deluxe, nevermind in the Boardwalk area. Although, as I told DH (after I made the reservation change, BTW ) this may be the way we have to plan our future trips. Cheap stay for part of the vacation and splurge for the other part! I am just afraid of the next trip being a letdown after ending this trip at the Boardwalk Inn...But, the way I look at it, any trip to Disney is wonderful!

I saved a whopping $44! Our trip is paid for (was paid in full 45 days prior to travel), and booked thru AAA, and in order to apply any savings, AAA had to cancel my trip (that cost me $50), and then re-book the same trip for $44 less. Some discount...what a joke

Well, the code she gave the woman on the phone was the wrong one But, the woman said, oh you must mean this code, and applied the correct code to our reservation and saved us $742
I just think that's the coolest thing ever. Thanks DIS for helping us save a bundle!

I booked BWI using the Fl Res rate for 7/26-7/29....I booked about 4 weeks ago though. I wonder if the ZJZ code may be able to save us even more....I was hoping for Boardwalk view afterall =)

How do you use these codes? Do you have to call and book or can you book online and use the code? Is the $69 rate for value rates the best deal out there right now? How much is the dining plan?
