Who's birthday? For adults, how about Victoria and Albert's ... Kids? One of the character meals if they are "younger" (DD12 wants to dine with Tigger for her 13th when we are there in Oct) And if the kids are older how about the Hoop De Doo?

My DD will be turning 12 on her birthday trip. She asked to go to Cal Grill but I was thinking a character meal would probably be better as they would make a big deal about it. She loves hamming it up with the characters! We will do Cal Grill the night before or after. Now....I just need to decide which character meal? :earsgirl:

I have some pics from boma where chef TJ made me a really amazing vegetarian meal and topped it off with fried oreos. So good.

Wow tricia!

That looks fabulous!

What was in the vegetarian meal he prepared? It looks gorgeous. I lean towards vegetarian, but not fully (eat meat occasionally) but I may have a meat free day the day I go to Boma.

I am still in awe tt that service was from a "buffet" restaurant. I am so impressed with Boma and I haven't even gone yet.

where can I find some photos of the dishes from a CRT dinner? I am curious to see what the Seafood Cioppino and the Pork Tenderloin look like.??

Prosciutto and Fresh Mozzarella - with beefsteak tomatoes, balsamic glaze and hummus garnish - $7.00

It's a very light appetizer compared to some of the others. The beefsteak tomatoes were topped with the prosciutto (dried, spiced italian ham). The white balls were the mozzarella, and then the humus with the fried tortilla-like thing sticking out of it.

Of course if this is too much, you could always go for the caesar salad, or soup of the day. :goodvibes

What was that made of? It looks very interesting!

the boma thing was made of sooo much stuff, to start it had portobello mushrooms and tofu in some sort of teryaki sauce that was better than anything i have ever tasted in my life. It had what he called 'pearl couscous' that was sort of spicey. it also had an array of veggies like green beans and other stuff. It was so good. those big things were kindof like a tortilla chip, and the white fluffy stuff on top was sort of like a puffed rice noodle or something. The whole thing together was amazing. Everything I ate at boma was so good I can't even stand it. I wish chef TJ would come home with me and cook me dinner every night! :teeth:

The last 2 pictures are fried oreos. at first we didn't know WHAT they were so I took a bite and looked in. It's an oreo covered in a type of funnel cake/pancake batter, then fried and covered in chocolate sauce. There were also some chocolate truffles.

I have to say though I'm not sure you can 'typically' get this meal any time you go. Our waitress said the different chefs do different things. I just happened to see him and asked him what was vegetarian on the buffet. He took me around and told me, and ask where I was sitting. i was not expecting anything like this at all. I could have lived off the butternut squash soup and felafel, and all the rices and hummos and everything vegetarian. everything was so good. Andd this just topped it off as my all time favorite restaurant experience! It's hard to find restaurants that are willing to cater to a unique diet so it really maked my week.

I suspect it's the Coconut Tiaramisu? That was my favourite. Along with the banana bread pudding !!
