the chocolate slipper was not available when i went oct 1......it was taken off the menu the few days before.

has it been put back on the menu at crt now?

i was soooooooo disappointed to not get the slipper when i was there. :sad2:

No it's not. I was there on Oct 25th and it wasn't available. I was so disappointed too. :guilty:

i tell you all this............not having the chocolate slipper ruined the meal for me there........

but then, the steak dinner at crt that i had wasn't very good at all really.

I was told by the resturant that it was still available :goodvibes I called to find out about a birthday cake for dinner for me there in Novemeber. :sunny: The one in the photo is from July 2005. It really didn't taste all that great my DS ate most of it but it sooo pretty, I'm thinking of ordering a slipper for afternoon tea at the Grand Flordian this will just be me and DD(2 almost 3) too. OK this is my son's birthday cake from Chef Mickeys'

Dh wouldn't let me take regular food pictures he was afraid people would look at me funny like they don't do that already.

when i dined at crt i did request the slipper even though it was not on the menu.

the waiter, fernando told me they didn't even have chocolate mousse there.
he said slipper was gone, couldn't be ordered as they didn't have the supplies to even make it.

fernando told me also that the menu does change periodically so people don't get tired of the same menu ..............geez, they changed the dessert menu days before i got there.........

Don't quote me but I thought the slipper was taken off during free dinning??? If its back it won't be for long since because of all the changes happening at CRT on 2/1.

Gee, I wish I could eat there that many times to get tired of it. :)

Thanks! I wonder why they're doing that? I think some of it is great, but it sort of stinks that you HAVE to pay for it when you book with a credit card, and the prices are a little high for lunch. We ate lunch there (2 of us) for around $40, and now we will be required to pay $68 :earseek:

Iamgine when its 3 adult and 2 kids. Then add the fact that one of them is a 3yo who will eat two bites. It makes the price obsene. There have been many a thread on the whole CRT change.

I started this thread thinking I would only get a few response. Who knew that the "food porn" thread would grow to the BEST thread on DIS.

Keep up on the good work and keep posting!

Boma tofu creation:

I have a question about the delicious looling Boma tofu creation-was this something you asked them to prepare for you ahead of time, or were you able to get this dish once you were at the restaurant???

It looks soooooooooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

I don't know about the Tofu at Boma's, but Jiko has had a wonderful Tofu dish everytime we've been there. And the amazing thing is, THAT I HATE TOFU. Peg has ordered it, and we always share. I said "No thanks" and she said "C'mon, at least try it." and I did and it really was unlike any tofu I'd ever had before.

If I remember correctly, the usually have at least 1 tofu dish at Boma.... but it's been a couple years for me. Can't wait to go back and confirm it in 12 more days!
