Tony's looks like its improved since last time I was there! :thumbsup2 Might have to give it another shot.

Oh my! Please try them next time! :coffee: If you like eggs, sausage (the kind you brown like ground beef), croissants, and cheese...you would surely like a breakfast casserole! Some people call them lasagne, pizza...but me, I just call them de-lish=us!!! I am loving this thread! I can not wait to go to the World. I haven't even packed!:scared1: I will bring pics of all our food adventures...from CP, HDDR, Narccoossee's, Boma's, Marakkesh, WCC, and RR!:woohoo: :dance3: Merry Christmas!princess:

this is scary and I would never try it on my own but i found the recipe for the crystal palace breakfast lasagna recipe....

Yield: 8 servings

Make the pastry cream first:

Pastry cream

1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
6 egg yolks
1-1/2 cups milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar

1. In a 2 quart saucepan, combine sugar, flour, salt and milk and whisk; over medium heat, cook while stirring until mixture thickens.

2. In a small bowl with a fork, beat egg yolks slightly, beat small amount of milk mixture into yolks.

3. Slowly pour egg mixture back into milk mixture.

4. Stirring constantly, cook over medium low heat until mixture thickens.

5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Chill cream until ready to use.

While cream is chilling, make pancakes, waffles and pound cake below:

Pancakes

1 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, well beaten
1 1/4 cups milk
3 TB. shortening, melted and slightly cooled, or salad oil

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Mix egg, milk and shortening. Pour milk mixture into dry ingredients and stir only enough to moisten. Do not beat or the pancakes will be tough. Bake on a hot griddle, lightly greased if necessary. Turn pancakes only once.

Waffles

1 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, well beaten
1 1/4 cups milk
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
3 TB. shortening, melted and slightly cooled, or salad oil

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Mix egg, milk, vanilla and shortening. Pour milk mixture into dry ingredients and stir only enough to moisten. Do not beat or the waffles will be tough. Bake in waffle iron following waffle iron instructions.

Pound Cake

3 cups cake flour
6 large eggs
1 pound butter
1 pound sugar
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk

Sift the flour into a large mixing bowl. Stir in sugar, using a large spoon. Add room temperature butter. Add eggs. Using a mixer on low speed, slowly add the milk, and then the vanilla extract. After thoroughly stirred, turn mixer to medium for a few minutes, then to high. Mix thoroughly. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a standard tube pan with butter, then lightly flour it, shaking the excess from the pan. Pour in the mix and bake the cake for about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Check the doneness of the cake with a toothpick. Allow cake to cool for 15-20 minutes in the pan, then crumble the cake into small crumbs with your hands.

Custard

6 large eggs
1 1/2 pints heavy cream
1 pint half and half
1 ounce brandy
1/4 ounce nutmeg
1/2 ounce cinnamon
1 1/2 cups sugar

Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and whisky until fully incorporated. Chill until ready to use. Makes 1 1/2 quarts.

Assembly

8 pancakes
6 waffles
6 cups crumbled pound cake
(Use the recipes above, or your own recipes. Store-bought/frozen are also OK.)

1 cup frozen raspberries
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 1/2 quarts custard (recipe above)
3 bananas
1 TB. butter

Put a layer of waffles in a buttered casserole dish. Sprinkle a quarter of the pound cake over the waffles. Peel and slice the bananas. Layer with half of each of the following: the cut bananas, frozen raspberries, and frozen blueberries. Sprinkle half of the remaining pound cake over the fruit, then top with the rest of the fruit. Top the fruit with a layer of pancakes, the sprinkle the rest of the pound cake on top. Press down on the layers to pack firmly. Slowly add the custard mix until the entire dish is saturated.

Baking and Garnishing

2 1/2 cups pastry cream (recipe above)
1 banana
1/2 pint your favorite fresh berries
1/4 cup brown sugar

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 60 minutes. (Oven thermometer placed in center of dish should register 165 degrees.) Top the lasagna with a layer of pastry cream. Slice the banana and layer on top of cream. Sprinkle sugar on top and place casserole under the broiler until browned. Garnish with fresh fruit and serve.
Oh my!!! That is not what I was thinking about when I heard of Breakfast Lasagne or Pizza....this is like a, ummm, a Mountain of Heavenly Yumness!!! Thanks for the recipe!!!!

Caribbean Beach Resort food court, breakfast foods:

Mickey waffle w/ sausages: pronounced good by DBf, and yes, the CM arranged it like that! Cute, no?

Disney12-06-2006002.jpg

Mickey waffle w/ fruit (strawberry) topping: yummy, and sugary. Perfect for a windy, freezing morning.

Disney12-06-2006003.jpg

Chocolate w/ chocolate chip, SUGARY muffin: DBf enjoyed it.. i mean what is there not to enjoy? Course sugar with nummie chocolate??

IMG_0551.jpg

Crossaint: Took a bite of one end before I remembered the camera. Was buttery and.... crossaint-y??

IMG_0553.jpg

Cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese: DBf snuck a picture while I wasn't looking... sneaky picture taking ninja!!!

Sci-Fi Dine In. We ate here for lunch on December 17, 2007.

The menu:

Disney12-06-2006012.jpg

Seared Marinated Tofu with rice, veggies, and mango sauce: it was pretty good, although it did not fill me up that much. Would have been more enjoyable if the "dashboard" of our car was lighted better.

Disney12-06-2006016.jpg

DBf had the Angus Chuck Cheeseburger. He chose it with cheddar, bacon, and french fries. No complaints from him. Maybe he was too enthralled with the fantastic clips?

Goofy's Candy Company.

We had a blast and made 2 each so here are our 12 creations. Pretzel rods, Gingerbread cookies, Oreo Fudge cookies, and Rice Krispie treats.

Rose & Crown. We ate here for lunch on December 15, 2007.

It was the most surprising meal ever. I came in with low expectations, just expecting a meal. But I walked away with a TRUE Disney experience. The server, Sara-Jane, was ever-so charming and efficient. The atmosphere was just lovely, with the rich woods, the detailed ceiling, and the knick-knacks on the wall. The food was fresh, hot, tasty, and comforting. And the STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING! With every bite I took, I literally collapsed over with joy. It was like an explosion of warm, vanilla, spiced cake-y, gooey, toffee goodness!!! I simply cannot overstate my satisfaction. We have to make it a must-do now, just for that dessert. In fact, I made a ADR for January 31st, my DBf's birthday at 1:10 PM just so we can have the dessert (he chose Le Cellier for his birthday lunch and Tokyo Dining for dinner).

Anyyyyyyyywayy........ back to the food p0rn!!!

The cute menu:

IMG_0571.jpg

Hot chedder-topped rolls with Epcot Ball butter (oh, Paula Deen would be ever so proud!):

IMG_0576.jpg

Harry Ramsden Fish and Chips (NO tarter sauce, just ketchup): DBf enjoyed it very much. He proclaimed, "Now this is real fried fish!"

IMG_0577.jpg

Vegetable Curry with grains and Indian bread (not really sure how this is British): It was very good. You have to really enjoy veggies to like this. It was not that spicy, although Sara-Jane told me that almost everyone who ordered it decided that it was. The grains were interesting, it had a slight sweet taste to it.

IMG_0578.jpg

Chocolate Guinness Torte: DBf ordered this mainly because he thought he wouldn't enjoy the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Although it was quite good, it simply could not live up to the Pudding.

IMG_0581.jpg

STICKY. TOFFEE. PUDDING: Need I say more?

Columbia Harbour House. We ate here for dinner on December 15, 2007.

Ham and cheese sandwich: I took the picture at a bad angle. There was actually a lot more filling in that sandwich. My boyfriend does not like any vegetables (except potatoes, of course). So... meat and cheese only!

IMG_0599.jpg

Tuna sandwich: I'm a Pescetarian, and it gets my stamp of approval.

Sorry for the not-so-great pictures there!

Tony's Town Square. We ate here for lunch on December 16, 2007.

Pretty surprised at the yummy food here! Our server, Tyler, was absolutely superb! He was one of those servers who could read your mind. More on that later....

The menu:

IMG_0665.jpg

Calamari with marinara and Pepperoncini relish on the side. Next to it is the complimentary bread with yummy olive oil and balsamic vinegar:

IMG_0675.jpg

Bianca flat bread w/ a blend of six cheeses: DBf absolutely LOVED this!!! It was the only time I have ever seen him slowly eat pizza! And he knows pizza, alright! It was the ricotta cheese that made it good. It added a creamy, decadent taste.

IMG_0676.jpg

Eggplant Parmesan: It was one of the best Eggplant Parmesans that I have ever had. There were some caramelized onions within the layers. This added a surprising, and melt-in-your-mouth smoky taste.

IMG_0677.jpg

Tyler brought out diet cokes whenever he can! In fact, at one point he got so good with it that we had four glasses on our table!

IMG_0681.jpg

Tiramisu: It had cake instead of lady fingers. It was good because the espresso taste wasn't too strong. The dark chocolate shavings were a great side addition.

IMG_0682.jpg

Backlot Express. We ate here for dinner on December 16, 2007.

Tropical Salad with grilled plaintains. This is a new addition to the menu. It by far outshined the old soy nut salad.

IMG_0738.jpg

Fried Chicken with fries. DBf didn't complain.

IMG_0739.jpg

Misc.

Pineapple dole whip. Sorry the picture was blurry, for some reason my camera kept on taking a picture of the background, not the foreground.

IMG_0652.jpg

Chocolate and vanilla swirled dole whip. Ditto on the picture.

IMG_0653.jpg

Did you know that the fantastic plastics robots from Innoventions enjoys Mezzo Mix soda?
