No fall breaks for us....we usually pull the kids out of school...but I think this year it will be an adult only trip..

not sure what areas of the country have October breaks, but i can say for certainty that i have never heard of them in PA. (i have lived on both sides and in the middle of the state) fall break is generally not until thanksgiving.

My kids get out of school on September 30 (Friday) and return on October 17 (Monday)

No breaks in NY either Except they get like a day or two off around Columbus Day

Here in MA its just Columbus Day, which I believe this year is Oct 10.

Our official fall break is Thurs/Fri - Oct 20 and 21. But, Tuesday afternoon (10/18) and all day Wed (10/19) are parent/teacher conference days, the kids are out of school. We are contemplating blowing off the parent/teacher conferences and the one and a half days of school that week and spending 10/15 - 10/22 at WDW.

We will be at WDW this spring break 4/2 - 4/9, so we can not decide if we can justify the expense of two Disney trips in 1 year.

No October breaks in Dallas! In fact, not even Columbus Day! Not Yom Kippur, not ANYTHING!! Which is why I will have to be a very bad parent and just take DS out of school. They have one measly day off on Oct. 21 for "Fair Day" when they are supposed to go to the State Fair. Sorry, we're going to WDW and we will be sure to learn something that we could have learned at the fair. I am supremely irritated that we don't have ANY days off other than the same one millions of other people nationwide have off. The school district drove me to it - there was just no other choice than to pull him out of school.

Oct. 10-14 here- ours is a week later this year for some reason. I'm curious to know about crowds during this time. We are considering it for a future trip and I have some friends planning a trip this upcoming Fall Break- anyone have insight into crowds for this time?

Our schools are starting a little later next school year. We have a break from Oct 31 to Nov 2. Guess who is going to be a MNSSHP on Halloween!! It is also my b-day.

here in new york it depends on the Jewish holidays... if yom kippur falls in october, then we have a few days off then... otherwise we just get the monday near columbus day...

my nephew is in arizona and he gets off the week of columbus day i think it is the 10th - 14th

I don't know of any schools in W.Texas that have a fall break. My district gets all of Thanksgiving week off, but we're one of the few in the area.

Oct 19/23.....will take a extra day or two for our Disney trip

no fall break here in south NJ, none in SC upstate either- we transferred north from there. If I remember right, WV doesn't get one in the fall but will get a wk around Thanksgiving when deer season starts.

strange that Dallas decided not to....................we're near Fort Worth and have a Friday and a Monday, with the Thursday before and the Tuesday after slated as Teacher Work days..........which means I can't use the time.......but most folks' kids will be out October 6-11.................also slated for a full week at Thanksgiving................

Long Island doesn't have a fall break. I think we need one...because we don't have enough (can you tell I am a teacher?!) Who do I lobby to about this?
