oh those turned out so cute!! I wanna see the baby!!!!

Working on it! She doesn't like to get in which is BAD news!! When I was doing a fitting the four year old was freaking her out about pins so now when she sees it she screams pin pin! The pin incident was when the bodice wasn't even fully sewn I thought for sure shed not recognize it as a full gown :/

I'm going to do a pic with all three tomorrow. the four year old even got her Drizella wit so it should be a cute pic.

Finishing dh Flynn vest tomorrow. Have to add to it he has a bit of a belly lol.

So how late do you guys usually end up finishing costumes for MNSSHP? Gluing rhinestones on the monorail on the way over? Hand sewing details on the car ride to FL? I feel like I may be all of the above this year!

last year i had my sewing machine in the room and sewed sons entire pascal costume and 1/2 my undershirt, and quilted dhs flynn vest while they went to ak (my least fave park, so i wasnt too sad) and the nights after we got back from the park... (for a tuesday party) i was banned from bringing my sewing machine this year, and told it will be done prior, or im hand sewing in the car. i didnt get rapunzels long sleeves on mine for the 1st party, and i cant remember if i did for the 2nd...

This is our first MNSSHP. We've been going for over 25 years. DS8 is very excited. He's going as a mix of a few of his favorite costumes, but will have a GEn. Grievous mask. I am going as the ghost of Disney Store 533. That was our store number before it closed. So I'm going to where a ghost wig and make up my face and wear my name tag and several of the reward pins I earned while working there. Any excuse to where it again sounds good to me. It actually was my sons idea. So I think it will be fun. One of our cast members works at MK now in the offices above mainstreet, hope I get to see her and see what she thinks. Looking forward to it.

We leave noon thursday... DD is sewing the collar onto tweedle Dums costume as I type this.

Then she needs to put the Zipper in.
Still have to finish the Red Queens crinoline.
Have to finish Dum's belly padding.
Have to finish the brim on Mad hatters hat.
Sew velcro or snaps onto Dee and Dums Bows to attach them to the costume

I think thats it. The 'to-do' list had 13 things on it yesturday, we are down to 5 things.... we MAY actually get this done... phwef.

My 16 year old has made 5 costumes in the last 6 weeks ( Alice , Red Queen, Mad Hatter, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum)

I am very proud of her.

All the fabric/supplies came to approx $100. Thats just $20 pp!

We got all the fabric on the clearance wall for $2 a meter ( even the satiny stuff for the Red Queen)
We got all the patterns for 25c each and at the thrift store and she litterally pieced together the top from one and skirt from another and the sleeve from another then altered the back based on an online tutorial.... ect ect for each costume, to save us money as patterns at the fabric store would have almost doubled the total budget.

We even used thrift store zippers at 10c each!

oooh good job doing all that on a tight budget!!! and getting all that done in 6 weeks!

We are going in just 3 weeks! DD7 is dressing as Cinderella and DS6 is dressing as Prince Charming. I was planning to do an easy Minnie costume (red tank, black shorts, and ears), but was wondering if anyone had any simple ideas for an adult to go along with the Cinderella theme?

DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok with mine anyways.... its so pretty i can cry! sorry i had to be a total aw.

Absolutely gorgeous !! I can't wait until I can sew like that !!

We are doing Drizella and Anastasia for dd 9 and 4 and the baby will be Conderella in her pink mice made dress. Mostly these are for 1900 Park Faire but I spent so much time by God they're getting more wear out of them so mnsshp it is!

Dh and I are doing rapunzel and Flynn again. He threw his vest away sigh so I'm redoing that now and I didn't love my dress so redoing that too. We leave the 12th! Aaaah. I was doing well until I got a kidney infection last week that sidelined me a week from doing anything and now I'm scrambling. Plus the girls want these Minnie Inspired twirl dresses to wear in the park so I'm spazzing now about how to get it all done!

I love these !! So cute and fun !!

So, how many of you here are on the sewing thread too ?? It seems as if a bunch of you should be.

I am going to Mickey's Halloween Party at DL at the end of September. No coordinating family here. DH won't dress up. Boys are going as Captain Kirk and Spock and I am making a Merida dress for myself. pieces are all cut, I just have to put them together. I have already finished my arrow bag of suede and I have about 3 weeks to perfect the costume. I have never made anything to fit me before so this should be interesting. I am using a pattern, slightly altered, and am making the blue ceremony dress.

I took the dress Brandy wears in R+H Cinderella and altered it to my own design. My DD likes to sing "Impossible" lol
She has the Glass slippers too!

My son (6 turning 7 while we are there) will be going as prince charming. Still sewing that costume. I'll post pictures soon.. It will be AWESOME!!

Bringing his costume from last year as a back up or to where another day. I made it look like the Captain Hook costume from the Robin Williams movie "Hook".

I LOVE making costumes. I think I'm going to be the Fairy Godmother. Thought about Winifred from Hocus Pocus. But figured I'd stick with Cinderella theme. Making costumes for Disney would be a DREAM JOB! All About Movie Set Costumes!

Oh my GOODNESS Winifred from Hocus Pocus!!!! I totally should've done that!!! What a great idea!

I finally have costume ideas for us.

DS (5) wants to be Mario so DH will go as Luigi

I got the 3 girls want to be faires: Tink, Silvermist, and Rosetta. I actually have all of these costumes hidden away (I bought them last year and stored them) so it will be a surprise when they seem them.

I am going to try to do Vidia. I don't sew and I have blonde hair. I have a purple dress that I got at the thrift store that I will match with purple leggings and then I am going to get an Amy Winehouse wig LOL!

those are absolutely wonderful!!!

I was getting afraid this wouldn't be done in time, since we leave in 3 weeks! But I am finally in the final stage - glitter paint and do-dads galore!! I hope to be done with it all this week, then I have to move on to finishing dd's Merida cape & accessories, and hemming up another costume for her. Oh, I still have to cut and style my hair piece for Giselle too. It looks SO MUCH BIGGER in person than this photo seems to make it look...

hair piece tests...first one is not the one I'll use, it was too dark. I'll use the second one since it matches my own hair better but it needs to be cut down and the curls loosened.
