***Post Your MNSSHP Costume Ideas***

My son is 12 and he wants to be The Joker from the Dark Knight. I have an Aunt that will make him the costume a 3 piece suit and it won't take her that long to make it. He didn't want a cheesy bought one he wanted it to look authentic! But would this offend anyone? Would it frighten kids ? I would hate to have this made and we get there and they ask him to change. What do you guys think?

I actually have a Joker costume that I made for myself back when Dark Knight came out. This is my son's GF wearing it last year for TOT in the neighborhood(I also had the nurse dress, lol)

I don't think it's bad because he's just a villain from a superhero movie...there are tons of batmans, why no joker? I think it's all in how you act...and as you can see, she laughed like a goofball all night so no kids were bothered by her.

There were people in bloody white t-shirts with make up on to look like their faces were slashed at one of the parties last year...I was surprised those made it through! I would just say if you do joker just do paint for the face, no scars. When I did it, I had special effect make up that made my face look truly scarred and I did get some unsettled looks from some little ones...but I also walked around with my head down looking rather creepy.
It will be much more delightful to be Giselle this year, lol.

Thanks. Well my DD5 will be Rapunzel and she's not scared of anything!! When we go trick or treating she walks up to all the scary houses with no fear!!lol But I know most little ones are not that way! I was hoping that since he is a kid himself that it wouldn't be a problem! We'll be there on Oct 11th and still working on convincing DH to dress up! I was trying to get him to be Beetlejuice!! Needless to say we will not be matching costumes!!

I thought I wouldn't get it done... but look for a Corpse Bride and Lumiere at the Sept 25th party!! The actual outfit is just a spray painted silhouette of the candelabra, but the headpiece and hands were fun (and the flames will have glow sticks inside!)

Very creative! Craft foam? I love that stuff.

WOW! Sooo many fantastic costumes! I finally got my costume finished. I'm not as in love with it as I was my Barbie costume from last year, but it will do.Big bonus is that I don't have to wear a wig this year. Hooray for that! Here is my Peter Pan costume...
