Rissa's Mom- I don't think you will be able to bring the sword into the park. Last 2 years they would not let you take them in. Even though they sell swords at Pirates.... It is a safety issue. Might have something to do with insurance? They can sell that type of stuff, but not let some one bring it in. My DS was Peter Pan and had to leave the (very fake) "knife" that Peter has tucked in his belt sash at the front gate. We were able to buy one at Pirates... dumb, but there ya go! And the one we bought was better. We had made the fake one to look fake so we could take it in, but no go! This year he wants to do Zorro, and I reminded him he could not take in the rapier. And I don't think they sell them at the park.... we will see!

I think you meant to post this to my3princes. :teeth:

My DH and I are taking our kids (8 1/2 & 5 1/2) to MNSSHP on 10/21. I'm going in a easy costume, DH probably won't. I thought a fairy would be nice and easy. Well,
we're fortunate to have a Disney Character Premiere store in a nearby outlet mall. (This store is an outlet for the WDW Park merchandise.) Yesterday, I actually found adult fairy and butterfly wings (kids were available too). I was shocked!! All of $7.00/pair. I bought BOTH - butterfly and fairy (for future parties). I'm thinking of using the butterfly wings. I need a black adult leotard and a sheer black ballet skirt. Where would I find one?? I also need to put together antennae and some face paint to paint swirls, designs on my face. Any suggestions???? Thanks!

picked up my costume today. Going to be a pirate: It would be an elaborate costume, but its will be lightwieght/cool and still let me be in the spirit of the holiday :earsboy:

I bought my DD a beautiful belle dress but it does not flare out at the bottom at all unless she twirls around! (It actually goes in at the feet like a mermaid) Any ideas how I can easily fix this? I'm getting deseperate, we are leaving in 2 days!
TIA :flower:

We're thinking that using the Disney Pjs as costumes would be good -- comfortable, won't restrict them for going on rides. etc.

The Disney costumes all seem like they will be too hot for Florida.

We did buy my 6 year old the JoJo Circus costume, but we will have her only wear the hat with JoJo Pjs in Florida -- she can wear the whole costume back at home where it will be colder on halloween.

Not really original, but was wondering if other folks do the same thing?

Don't want folks commenting in the park that our kids are wearing PJs and not costumes.

What do you think?

We were at Disney on a day last year when the MNSSHP was taking place... just wanted to throw out some things I observed. (please excuse if this has already been said.)

Really cute: Families or groups that had a 'theme' (i.e. each a character from Wizard of Oz, one family was a football game--some were players, others cheerleaders, a coach, a ref, and then a few fans...complete with face paint.) Looked really neat when there were walking as a group.

Really not so cute: So sad for many little girls who after a few hours were just labored by their princess dress and all the acccoutrements. Poor little aching feet and tripping over their gowns. Might just bring a change of clothes, shoes just in case they wear out their reign as princess for a day.

We are dressing up as the "50's" family. Very casual so if we get one of those hot and muggy Florida nights we won't melt.

I've ordered poodle skirt outfits from Annie's Poodle Skirts on line for the girls. They are the cutest outfits. Mom, Grandpa and Myself are just wearing "50's" clothing.

If it's a cool night long sleeve shirts under, if it's a warm night were all set. I expect it to be warm, but you never know with Florida.

well we decided we are going as "Jack" from Lost and I will be an oceanic airline attedant. All the stewardess outfits online are WAY too sexy, so I think I will put one together myself. wish me luck, if anyone has any ideas to add to this, please help! we are clueless! :teeth:

Has anyone had any luck finding a dress/nightgown for Wendy? I have Peter Pan, Capt Hook, and Tinkerbelle already for the rest of the family and can't find anything!!

Here are a couple other cute ideas:

Noah and animals in pairs
Adam & Eve
Race Car Drivers
Painters

(For the race car drivers and the painters, you can just get the paper overalls at Home Depot and play with them to get what you want. Home Depot will also give you free paper painting hats if you ask. My parents just splattered paint all over these and themselves last year and looked just too cute!)

My friend also saw a group of people waling around last year dressed up as different holidays. One was the Easter Bunny, X-Mas tree, turkey, cupid, Uncle Sam, etc... She said that they looked awesome!

It's too hot for the Incredibles outfits I've seen in the catalogs and store so my sister (who didn't even know what they looked like until three days ago) put these costumes together in about an hour following a trip to Wal-Mart. :worship: The Incredibles logo on the shirt? She made a pattern freehand from looking at the DVD case. How come I didn't get any of the creative talent in my family? :rolleyes2

My DD will be going as a "ghoul" with the robe and white make-up and I'll be an elf or Cleopatra.

This will be the 4th year we'll be going to MNSSHP and every year we come across, at least, 2-3 men dressed as Snow White. One year, we saw a family dressed up as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The father was Snow White and he came up to my neice's husband, who was dressed as a caveman, and said "I bet you think you look stupid". You had to be there.

And I cannot stress too much how hot it can still be in Florida in October.

Ebay has some if you can't find one in town.. I just search on 'Wendy costume' and there were a bunch, ladies and girls sizes. Good luck!

CUTE Mrzrich!!!! Tell your sister to make sure they get their picture taken with the incredibles in Tomorrowland!

After looking all over for Wendy dresses-we found a gown on clearance at JC Penney online for 9.99.

The gowns on ebay are nice but too expensive for a 1 time use.

How about by 10/31? I keep thinking it may cool off by then? I'm not sure if we will be hot or chilly!

We are going to go 10-23-05 to MNSSHP. I havent decided on costumes while we are there.. but I have decided what the kids will be here when we get back, for the actual halloween trick or treating. Since we get back from the Wonder cruise at around 10 pm on Sunday 10-30.. my kids are going to go as Disney tourists for Halloween this year.. lol :rotfl2:

Cant see spending a lot of money on a costume they will wear once.. and I know we will be spending lots of money on our trip.. :rotfl:

Sadly, we are not going to WDW this year, but we were there last year at MNSSHP on the 2oth, and it was hot and didn't cool down much until around 8 PM, but it was still warm. We went in at 4 pm and brought our costumes is to change into after dinner.
